The Holiday Chalet is a beautiful B&B. I stayed on the third floor, in addition to my room with a full kitchen, I had a beautiful sitting area of the house adjoining my room. The sitting area had a piano, bookshelves, 2 rocking chairs and 1 sitting chair. The neighborhood on Colfax Ave. itself is abit rundown, but do not...

We love Victorian homes and older neighborhoods, so Holiday Chalet was right up our alley. Our check in staff was nice and accommodating. She listened to what we wanted to do and recommended The City Park and Pete's Diner. We enjoyed both. We loved the charm of the house and would come back the next time we are in Denver....

As stated in the title, this bed and breakfast does not look like the outside photo at all. We actually drove past it looking for something like the photo shown on the website. The bed and breakfast itself is very quirky and there is quite a menagerie of items decorating the place. The room was large and accommodating, however it...

Decided to arrive Denver a day early and was looking where to stay. My wife found this on TripAdvisor about 2 hours out and called them as we needed 2 beds for our family of 4. They had it and we booked it. Street parking (we had no problem). Good internet. Beautiful patio. A great vegetarian restaurant near by. Walking...

Overall this was a nice place to stay. The house was very quaint and has the quirks and details of a house of its time, the items the house was adorned with are beautiful, but overall the place could use a "lift"/updating to make it more inviting. I would not describe this lodging as a B&B however. It felt more...

I agree with other reviewers, the Holiday Chalet could use a little decorating TLC. Replace fraying wallpaper. Replace spotted ceilings in bathroom. Add bathroom fans. The location might seem a bit intimidating to some. But as traveled, mountain folks, we felt quit safe. Side street parking is very accessible. That said, we will definitely comeback to this B&B when visiting...

Historically the B&B is interesting-kitchenettes in the rooms and a small separate windowed dining area, but everything feels old and worn out. The rooms were quite despite the B&B being on a major road. The breakfast is "to order" and was disappointing-overcooked eggs and the order wasn't correct. I come to a B&B to enjoy thier brand of breakfast--not to...

With a little more decorating expense plus savvy, and more comfortable beds the Holiday Chalet could be special. The building is charming though a bit dowdy. Breakfast was made to order and excellent. Our room had a small refrigerator, small flat screen TV with standard Comcast choices. The bathroom was a clean old fashioned facility with great water pressure, and...

Although this is bed and breakfast is in an industrial area of town and there are many homeless around, none of the homeless ever bothered us or asked for money or help. There were some nice restaurants nearby and it is close to the bus stop to take us into town. It was also close enough to walk into town...

This place cost close to $200 per night! I've been traveling from NY to Las Vegas with my girlfriend and wanted a nice place to stay in Denver. Though this place looked great from the photos, but the place older than I thought. Woke up each morning from a back ache. The bed was squeaky and old. This place is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hotel is a fully-restored Victorian, brownstone mansion originally built in 1896 for prominent Denver jeweler Henry Bohm of Bohm Jewelers. Elegant period décor along with high ceilings, hardwood floors, intricate moldings, private baths and kitchens make us Denver's most alluring and comfortable bed and breakfast. From our eclectic Capitol Hill location visitors enjoy Denver's best sight-seeing, shopping, music, art, and nightlife all within minutes of our front door-the neighborhood described in the Jack Kerouac classic, On the Road. The Holiday Chalet enjoys the benefit of an exciting, high-energy central location within the vibrant heart of the city amid an eclectic mixture of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The creative spirit in our neighborhood appeals to artists, architects, designers, writers and musicians alike. However, enveloping warmth, charm, comfort, and security within the hotel also make The Holiday Chalet a convenient home away from home for business and leisure travelers alike. As a Bed and Breakfast we begin each morning in true style with a full, home-cooked breakfast served from 7:30 to 10:00 am. A variety of delicious homemade offerings are made fresh including Cowboy pancakes, crustless veggie or bacon quiche, French toast, eggs and bacon, fresh fruits, juice, tea, and premium coffee. ... more   less
