So we drove from Ohio to The Springs on 2/12. we had a reservation for the 13th. When I called to get in the night early it was indicated that they had no kings as booked for the other nights so we took the two double beds. We were so tired when we arrived to room we thought the window was open because the traffic sounds from the highway sounded like they were in room. Thankfully we made it through that night but I went down first thing in morning to request a room change to the backside of hotel for the rest of stay. We were able to change to a clean King room that very morning which makes me think it was available the night before! What a difference!! Also thought the king room smelled better and seemed cleaner. We stayed until Wednesday morning. We did not partake in daily cleaning or the breakfast. This was our second time staying her and would do again! …
Clean, comfortable rooms. Good sleep and stay. Hot breakfast served individually to you during covid. Scrambled eggs and sausage. Nice! Pool available for reserving for your room. One of the best deals for hotel room in Colorado Springs. Nice area with bike path right behind hotel. Happy we stayed there. Light sleepers beware: lots of highway noise if you get a room facing the highway. We were tired so wasn’t an issue, but I’d pay more to get mountainside rooms that are undoubtedly quieter.
This place is the worst hotel we have been in ever. We will definitely not be back again. Walking in the front door it reeked of weed. The elevator was nasty, something had been spilled on the floor. Stepping out of the elevator the carpet is nasty also. The carpet in our room is filthy. The sink does not drain. The curtains are falling off the track. There is an odor of sewer from the bathroom and constant smell of weed coming into our room from other rooms. And, to top it off, there was a group of individuals that apparently were all together but in separate rooms close to our room. They were constantly opening and slaming doors and talking in the hallway. I called the front desk and she told me she could not do anything. She was the only one there and unless I could tell her their room number she couldn't do anything about it. This is a very poorly run hotel. Go elsewhere. …
We have now stayed here several times and each time found it to be a good value (at about $80/night) for a couple day stay. The rooms are of modest size, but clean and comfortable. Paying an extra $5 gets you a room on the back side with nice mountain and creek views - but most importantly away from highway noise. The breakfast options are many, with the service being fairly COVID-friendly. We wanted to leave the windows open at night to enjoy the fresh mountain air, but broken window/screens kept us from doing that. And sitting in the breakfast room listening to a table of employees nearby complaining about their pay and talking about how they were looking for jobs elsewhere didn't seem very professional - but it didn't impact our stay.
My room was large and comfortable with a microwave, coffeemaker and minifridge although the furnishings were beginning to show signs of heavy use. The staff was great and the complimentary breakfast was very good and better than expected. If you are a light sleeper like me, be sure to get a room in the back as the rooms in the front can get loud with the freeway running past. Besides the nearby Air Force Academy, the hotel is convenient to the other standout sights of the Colorado Springs area including the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.
