We really liked this hotel. The grounds and location are amazing. The jungle trails were fantastic. We saw both spider monkeys and howler monkeys as well as other wildlife. The night tour that was included was also amazing with many frogs, spiders, snakes and other crawly things. The pool was bigger than we thought and was very refreshing. AC was good and the bed was extremely comfortable -- probably the best I have slept in months. Very nice to have both an indoor and an outdoor shower -- I definitely preferred the outdoor version and the hot water was excellent. Overall, service was excellent and all COVID protocols were well observed. We felt very safe the entire time. Breakfast was basically two choices served to the table with some variation as you liked. We did have dinner one evening and while it was good, it was not really excellent -- choices were rather international and it would have been nice to have some local cuisine options (rather than spaghetti bolognese, for example). Only one time did we have a bad experience with one single service staff member, who ignored both me and my partner (separately) one morning during breakfast. Once we raised this with management, all was fixed very quickly. Highly recommend this hotel -- you will need a car -- and also recommend a cabin/villa with a jungle view away from the road, as others have recommended. It was really nice and peaceful.

Had never been to the area but was really looking forward to the visit. Hotel is ver well kept and clean. Grounds are beautiful. Room is large, comfy with classy wood furniture. Absolutely loved it. Great internet and movies apps to entertain kids at night. Pool was too cold to use but we dipped our toes. Also we were able to take a dip in the river by following their trails. This was amazing. The reason for the low score is the food 😞their food is not good. We paid approx 8,000 colones for each ceviche way above average and flavor was just not there. Also, got three orders of fries and paid 13,000 colones for frozen fries. Loved the place but the bad food quality and overpriced plates will make me think twice before returning.

Dear Rachel. Thank you so much for choosing Rio Celeste Hideaway as your lodging place during your last journey to northern Costa Rica. We really appreciate your kind comments about the hotel and its grounds. We are terribly sorry about not meeting your expectactions in our restaurant. Our ceviche tricolor is one of our top sale dishes, most people love our peruvian ceviche recipe, made with the freshest ingredients. There might be a misunderstandig with the price for the fries, your order included drinks as well. Thanks you for your feedback and hope we can provide a perfect vacation to you very soon. Pura vida! My husband and I stayed at the Rio Celeste Hideaway to celebrate our anniversary. This perfectly romantic room did not dissapoint. The rooms match the online photos and videos. Lovely, private, romantic, clean. The bathroom's outdoor shower was a perfect way to feel you are out in nature. The bed was incredibly comfortable with high thread count bedding. We appreciated the mini fridge in the room to keep our celebratory beverages cold. The bi-lingual staff were lovely and attentive and made excellent drinks at the bar. We also had a couples massage at the spa onsite. Excellent for relaxation after our long hikes in the jungle. The hotel is in an excellent location for swimming in the safe part of Rio Celeste just behind the hotel. And the entrance to the national park is less than a kilometer. We highly recommend this lovely hotel. It is an incredible way to feel close to nature but have all the luxurious amenities at your fingertips. We were visiting during the Covid pandemic and all protocols were in place including staff in masks, guest in masks through public places, alcohol gel, handwashing, signs to flip from green (okay to sit here it is sanitized) to red, do not sit here - it has yet to be cleaned. We felf comfortable with everything in place.

I visited from the U.S. and could not have been happier to begin my vacation at this outstanding hotel. The main building was beautifully built, blending perfectly with the lush, green surroundings. It offered a large dining room, separate bar room, lounge area, and a game room with billiards and foosball. The grounds and pool area were immaculate. My separate bungalow was gorgeous and in pristine condition with more room than I needed but enjoyed having. The food was off the charts and the wait staff super friendly and professional. For that matter, the entire staff was terrific and always glad to help. If you like to hike by day and enjoy luxurious amenities at night, look nowhere else. I already look forward to returning!
