Stayed here twice this month and loved it both times. Charming, cozy cabins in a great location. Easy to walk all around town from here. The owners are friendly, helpful and interesting. Cabins are nicely appointed, although bathrooms can be a bit small and dated. Beds are so comfy you won't want to get out. And it's pet friendly.

While I didn't want to spend 3 nights in a small motel and my options were limited in Buena Vista, so I elected to try the Thunder Lodge Cabins. While they may of been built in 1948, they have been updated and are very comfortable for more than the 3 people that were in our party. While not air conditioned,...

Had a wonderful stay at Thunder Lodge. When booking our priority was location and comfort, so booking cabin made more sense than a hotel room. Cabin 3 was perfect to come back to and relax after a day rafting, atv riding and zip lining. Spacious enough for my 2 teenage boys and husband and myself. Owner was very accommodating. Since...

My wife, daughter, and daughter's mother-in-law visited this place based on reviews. The feedback I got was: - The staff was wonderful. Very pleasant, very helpful. - The room was decent, but could use some updates. - The place was non-smoking, but there was an odor that could be detected. Not overwhelming, but noticeable. Overall, the experience was okay, but...

Terrific location, nestled between Mt. Princeton and Cottonwood Hot Springs. Our cabin was charming, comfortable, and well-equipped for a wintery get-away. I'm definitely recommending this facility for either a quiet getaway, or a large group gathering. The owners are terrific! Very helpful and informative. Terrific hosts!

We stayed here on our cross country trip. Very affordable and the owners are very pleasant. The property as well as out cabin is very clean and presentable. They offer a lot of free amenities (including wifi) and the binder in the room describing the area was very detailed and useful. They are located near many neat attractions, rafting, zip...

We found this place after a long drive, went in to Cabin #2 and found no bedding at all. Then we did not find anybody to talk to about it that night. We called and texted and got her answering machine but next day she told me she never received my calls/texts. Felt like we were camping out. The owner...

Great service. The family wanted to hit the mountains and beat the Texas heat. This place is comfortable and affordable with games such as shuffleboard, beanbag toss. Beautiful creek runs beside the property with nice Brok trout. We will stay here again.

“Room tip: don't stay there”
livinglife66, 22 Oct 2016 | Read review
“These are cabins, not hotel rooms, so your best bet is just to call the management staff directly. I stumbled across their site via Craigslist. Sometimes that can mean a place is sketchy...in this instance it was just a property owner keepin it local. This is a real gem of a find and I think if your expectations are line line you'll feel the same way.”

“Check out the photos on-line before choosing your cabin. The ones by the river have no mountain views but are more private. The ones with the views are on city streets but still quiet.”
