We enjoy what we do and we do it with passion! We run our agriturismo with passion, generosity of spirit, creativity and a sense of fun. Our agriturismo is strategically located nearby Potenza for visiting the incredibly beautiful Basilicata countryside. Just one hour away from Matera, European Capital for the Culture in 2019. We offer an authentic agriturismo experience with warm hospitality and genuine food mostly from our farm. We don't just serve a meal. We work to provide emotions and memories to our guests.

This is a fantastic property in the middle of an idillic Basilicata landscape. The house is beautiful and the room my girlfriend and I were staying in was very spacious and cute, perfect for a romantic staying, but also for a family trip. The outdoor area is marvellous, there is a quite big swimming pool which you can use at literally any time of the day ("people come here to relax, we don't wanna put a closing time to it" :)), and while swimming you can enjoy the beautiful sight of the hills in front of the property - forget Tuscany, this is what real Italy looks like. The breakfast is of extremely high quality (home made cakes, jam, and filled donuts just to name a few) and plentiful, we had to ask them to stop bringing food as we were exploding :D . As if this wasn't enough, this hidden gem is run by a genuinely wonderful Italian family who puts all their heart in making you feel at home. I'm myself Italian, so I'm not that easy to please. In particular, Angelo - the owner - is an incredibly intelligent person with a great sense of humour, who made an effort to get to know us (despite we only stayed one night), and told us all we needed to know about the surroundings. He even offered us to keep using the swimming pool after the checkout!! I hope I'll be back soon, in that case I'll make sure to spend at least 3-5 days at Angelo's property.

Property's Favourite Review
Angelo showed us around his farm and the town of Vaglio upon request, we enjoyed the pool and a hike up from the agriturismo to 8th century BC ruins (!) but most of all, the meal, sourced entirely from their farm and garden, was incredibly special. I highly recommend booking dinner. There were six different antipasti, fabulous fresh pasta made to order, and their famous white lamb. It's hard to find legitimate agriturismi with so much pride of place and quality and authenticity. La Dimora is one of those special gems.

Angelo and his family took great care of us for our three-night stay. We felt welcome from the very beginning. The property is beautiful, and we were able to explore the surrounding Basilicata area easily (by car) from La Dimora. We loved the restaurant. Angelo's family cooked delicious and abundant family dinners that left us completely full and satisfied. They grow produce on their farm, and it makes a difference. TIP: Don't miss the spectacular sunsets from the restaurant deck. The rooms are comfortable, and it's always nice when shampoo and soap are provided. The pool is gorgeous, but you will need a swim cap to take a dip. Our toddlers thoroughly enjoyed running around the property, which has play structures, cats, a foosball table and Angelo's friendly family. Angelo now has PayPal, which provides a variety of payment options for international travelers and makes payment so easy. We would totally stay here again!

There's good reason why locals from miles around flock to the ristorante at La Dimora dei Cavalieri for Sunday lunch. It's three memorable hours of assorted hot and cold antipasto, vegetable soup, two types of pasta, pizziettas, and a platter of cheeses washed down with local Mount Vulture wine...and then a selection of sweets followed by limoncello. All served by the friendliest wait staff, most especially the gentle and obliging Fillipo. During the week, guests are served a delicious continental breakfast and, if they wish, can enjoy a more abbreviated but equally fine meal at dinnertime sourced from the farm itself or from nearby local proprietors in Basilicata. However, the main reason for visiting the Agriturismo is simply to be spoiled by the kind hearted and generous proprietor Angelo Ricciuti. First, pick one of the many well appointed rooms in the Agriturismo depending on the size of your family or group. Then let your benevolent overseer help plan your leisure days in the Lucanian Dolomite. As an example of his thoughtfulness, Angelo took 2 hours out of his busy schedule to personally drive us to the local ruins of Serra de Vaglio (after having prearranged for the caretaker to open up for us being it was off season). Furthermore, he then brought us further afield to the ancient amphitheater at Granga Park and to the nearby Sanctuary of Rossaro. And on the roundtrip home he brought us by his hometown, the ancient hilltop village of Vaglio Basilicata, a wondrous location for a twilight passeggiata. One evening when it was unseasonably cold we returned to the common room linking the guest quarters and were delighted to find a roaring fire in the fireplace our inkeeeper had arranged for us. And when not catering to guests full-time, he somehow finds time to utilize his original vocational talents and interacts as an engineering consultant with clients worldwide. The Agriturismo is strategically located for visiting the beautiful Balsilicata countryside...don't miss a journey to the lovely mountain village of Castelmezzano. As just one example of Angelo's thoughtfulness, when we mentioned our family would like to see the scenic seaside locale of Maratea in western Basilicata, he mentioned that we would be better off leaving his Agriturismo a day earlier and staying the night there instead of attempting a round trip back to the Agriturismo due to the considerable distance involved. In summary, if you want an authentic agriturismo experience with warm hospitality, pleasing surroundings and sumptuous dining for a reasonable price then include La Dimora in your plans. As an addendum, Angelo is breaking ground now on a swimming pool which should be ready by next year.
