The room was a little outdated and you can tell the room was used as the walls/mirrors were not as "nice" as they should have been (paint chipping, etc..) The room had an odor but I think it was just the air conditioner because it was HOT. Office staff was hard to understand but the disappointment was in the parking! DISCLOSE DISCLOSE - I think anytime someone pays for a hotel room they should be able to park 1 vehicle for free which should be included with room rates. Rooms are already expensive with taxes and tourist fees - at least 1 parking space should be available per room. I would have had no problem paying the $40 if I had a 2nd car. Almost $300 for 1 night for an average hotel that has a good location but not updated.
The receptionist guy ( Latin guy ) was rude and unfriendly. Never smile and when we ask to speak in Spanish he refused to do it. My sister doesn't speak English so I just want to make her comfortable. I will never come back.
The hotel lobby is dark and depressing. The hallways are also dark. Hotel room didn't have a sense of being clean. Outside the hotel, homeless people regularly smoked weed. I didn't feel safe being there. And I left feeling depressed. Not worth staying here. Hotel staff didn't go out of their way to help with any issues, either. And they never smiled.
I deeply regret booking this hotel. Although the lobby is nice, the rooms are horrible. The floor was sticky and it just felt and smelled filthy. The worst part was the noise. It was incredibly loud outside but even worse, there was a weird squeaking in the floors above us all night long. None of us slept at all. The desk clerks were very unfriendly and you had to pay 40 bucks for tight parking that they don't have near enough of. It was ridiculous. What is indisputable is that the location is perfect. You are very close to Hollywood, Santa Monica and Griffith Observatory. We are not super picky. For us to hate this place means it is awful. Just awful.
I had an error w online booking resetting the dates of my search, so I ended up booked for a same night room instead of the dates I actually had been looking up. I called to get it fixed and was bounced around to different people multiple times before being told the problem had to be addressed with a manager in person at the hotel. When I spoke to a manager they told me I needed to call their executive office instead. No notes were made by any of the staff I spoke to regarding the issue at any point during this process so when I finally reached the proper office they said no previous notes were left on the reservation and they would not do anything to address the issue. I had made a second reservation (for the day I had actually initially tried to book for) with the initial person I spoke to after being guaranteed the incorrect reservation would be corrected/refunded after speaking with a manager. The person I spoke to at the executive office admitted that they've had a lot of issues with Wyndham employees giving out incorrect information but still refused to offer any sort of solution. I would not have opted to rebook if I hadn't been guaranteed the first reservation would be refunded so essentially the hotel's dissemination of misinformation resulted in me paying double for a room. Terrible business practices.…
