This is one of the best RV parks to camp at if you love hiking and mountain biking. Gary the bartender is the best, very nice to have conversation with and mixes a great drink. Tim, is the best if you need anything.

We could see how Vail Lake Resort could be fun on Halloween. It's so remote that it would scare the adults. The lake is down, due to prolonged drought, so fishing wasn't much fun. There were no horses to ride, unless you travel on down 79 S for a few more miles. The landscape is tranquil though, and if you...

We were invited to camp with some friends this year for the annual Halloween festivities and we are very glad we did. For those who don't know, every weekend in October Vail Lakes hosts the "Terror in the Oaks, Halloween Weekend". Everyone decorates their trailers for Halloween and the kids all trick or treat in costume. Some campers even go...

We've been going here for Halloween for over a decade, 16 years. It's a great place to bring the family for Halloween. Decorate your carts, bicycles, campsite and chariots. Bring lots of candy for the Trick or Treaters. Bring your carts or bikes to explore the area.

The campground is a fun place for Halloween. The haunted house, trail and haunted hayride are the best part of Vail Lake in October. The actors were great! You can tell a lot goes into the preparation and planning for this spooky event. This year's Medieval Madness theme was great!

Have been going here for over 11 years. It has always been clean and well-run. They have three pools to accommodate toddlers, kids and adults. There are restrooms and a shower by the pool as well as other sections of the campground. Laundry is available too. They always have entertainment on weekends in the summer and on weekends in October...

Great campground with scenic views. They have bands' karaoke and other events at night. While i hear it used to be different, I had no complaints. Great open spaces for my boys to run wild. We will be going back

We've frequented Vail Lake a few times with friends. The sites are dirt or an occasional gravel pad. There are lots of trees which can be good and bad. The Oaks is the most popular section. Most recently, in several areas of the resort, there is no power for full hookups. It doesn't really bother us since we can run...

The roads within the park are in need of desperate repair. Just getting to our camp site was a little like off roading. The only respectable area to stay was Chardanay Mesa. The others were run down and really looked like no one had stayed there for decades. Weeds growing where the Rv's park. Unkept landscape and just an overall...

Dear artmonkredskin, thank you for taking the time to write a review of your visit to Vail Lake Resort. We are sorry to hear your disappointment and hope to be able to shed some light with our detailed response. In 2014, Rancho California Water District (RCWD) bought Vail Lake Resort. RCWD was seeking to protect the quality of its water...

She helped us out a bunch and was very nice, made the trip out that much better for our ride. The trails were very fun and well maintained. Every time we go, everybody is very nice. This is my favorite place in Southern California to ride. Mountain biking here is the best

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Vail Lake RV Resort features 467 full hook up RV sites with 30 and 50 AMP power. The property is adjacent to Vail Lake with great Largemouth Bass fishing and boating. Vail Lake has miles of challenging and scenic mountain bike trails (best suited for intermediate and advanced riders)along with miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, bocce ball and more. The majority of our RV camping sites are located among a large grove of mature oak trees offering shaded areas for relaxing. We are minutes away from the wineries and amenities of the Temecula Valley but the setting is rustic and natural with views of the surrounding mountain region. Currently we do not offer tent camping at Vail Lake but we may be offering some tent sites in the near future. ... more   less
