The only good thing about Tahoma Lodge is that they allow dogs. I'd never stay there again. It was filthy and uncomfortable. The sleeping loft was hot and cramped, while downstairs was freezing. The sheets on the sofabed had not been changed. The indoor air quality was not acceptable, everything smelled like fire even though we didn't use the fireplace....

My family and I (myself, wife and 3 year old daughter) decided to take a last-minute trip to Lake Tahoe and wanted to stay on the less-commerical, rustic West Shore of the lake. We had no interest in the casinos & strip-malls of the north and south lake cities, just some quiet time in the woods and near the beach....

This place was very nice and cozy, kind of rough around the edges but we liked it. Like the first reviewer, we stayed in the Aspen Cabin which was very nice. It had everything we needed but the upstairs did get very hot with the heater on so I would recommend turning it down low at night. They did not...

Tahoma Lodge is one of the few places in the west shore that allows dogs and had a reservation available for pres. day weekend. Sarah, the host, was very nice and courteous. We stayed in the Aspen cabin. $175 per nigth with 3 night minimum, but you couldn't find a cheaper deal with this much charm and privacy anywhere nearby...
