We stayed at Sunnyside to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary last week. The staff was simply wonderful--both at the lodge and at the restaurant. Our room was comfortable with a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Our dining experience was superlative.

The beaches consist of a bit of sand into the rocks & the water is mostly VERY cold, as it is an alpine lake. Resort located right on the water with a dock for the boats use in summertime. Depending upon the time of year, you could easily need a full wet suit (winter!) or at least a vest/jacket other times of the year. This is not warm water....There are some nice beaches in the town of Tahoe City (Commons Beach) as well as beaches located at state parks, too.
