Hotel Ynez is nestled on two private acres with extensive gardens, a pool, bonfire pits, and a rustic outdoor pavilion for nights under the stars. Relaxed yet sophisticated, the property provides a respite from urban living. A place where modern travelers can lounge amongst the Oak trees, on private patios, or poolside, while nestled in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country.

Nicely remodeled from Meadowlark days. Private grounds with new fencing to mask the highway which is right in front. Updated rooms with big screen TV (65"). Nicely renovated grounds with fire pits, lounge chairs, uncomfortable adirondack chairs (flat back ones are hard on the back), tables, etc. Very comfortable bed. Attentive friendly staff. Regular and electric bikes were available if wanted. If you're a bicyclist the Alamo Pintado route up to Los Olivos and then back through Ballard Canyon to Solvang is a nice ride (Corkscrew Hill will get your heart rate up). Small pool but nice lounges and umbrellas all around it. Supposedly a spa is being added in the future. 4 out of 5 due to less than steller breakfast offering. Also I don't know if all the rooms are like this but there's no chest of drawers to unpack your suitcase in room 12. Those tiny end table drawers don't hold much. A little stingy on the hot water, turning the shower valve to the full hot setting resulted in a trickle, but was generally adequate for a warm shower. If you have a choice request a room in the back farther away from the highway to keep the traffic noise down. It's not bad at night but is constant during the day.

We loved this hotel and will definitely return. The staff was lovely and attentive. As there are no phones, you text the front desk and they answer promptly. The reason I am giving a 4 is because it was missing a few amenities which could be easily fixed: 1) there was no trash can in the bathroom 2) there was a window in the room that did not have a window covering 3) there was no make-up mirror in the bathroom 4) the room felt dark - there was 2 lamps on either side of the bed but it really needed more overhead lighting 5) the pit fires outside were great -- it would have been nice if there was a throw blanket in the room to bring outside. All that being said -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.

Last minute I needed a reservation and my go to place was booked, but Hotel Ynez was recommended. Very cute place, I loved the fire pits and the layout of the hotel. It was very updated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely would stay here again. The only reason I would give 4 stars instead of 5 is it advertised as a Bed & Breakfast. The breakfast was the only thing that was a disappointment. We were told it was continental however we got a box with the following inside: apple, orange, plain yogurt, 2 slices of pound cake and some granola. There was a nespresso machine in the room that was nice. I personally wouldn't count on breakfast if I stayed here again. Again, Im not trying to be critical, but just wanted to let the management know that the only area I believe they would need to improve on is the breakfast department. Great place & I think they did a fabulous job updating the place!

We stayed in room 3, perfectly sized for those who are active and don’t spend time in a room on vacation. We were greeted by a sign by the door “If you’re in a hurry, you’re probably in the wrong place” followed by a warm welcome from Kurt that reinforced the “Its time to slow down and relax atmosphere”. We settled in and took a walk around the beautiful property where we found the pool area. Wow! Warm pool, spa, and a dry sauna. Lounge Chairs all surrounding the pool with privacy areas too. We spent the rest of the evening and the next day lounging around. Breakfast the next morning there was granola and milk, amazing coffee, followed by eggs cooked to order wrapped in ham, with fresh herbs and fresh fruit with toast. Our plates and bowls were set out for us to enjoy after we came back from our hike. Rich and Kurt are incredibly friendly hosts who are genuinely interested in getting to know their visitors. We enjoyed our stay and are planning to make this our new getaway spot.

Our group of several couples gathered here for a 70th birthday party where our accommodations elevated the occasion to an unanticipated level. Sure, the Birthday was fun but my wife’s first reaction was, “I’m not leaving this room”! But we did in order sit around the central park like area to enjoy the fire pit and a few glasses of wine! Our room was spacious and brightly furnished with attention to detail. We had a separate living room although many of our friends had, a least, a sofa, chairs and a sitting area separate from their bed. The bed! So comfy - quality mattresses and sheets. Great shower, heat and air! No complaints. We will be back as will most of our group - some live quite far away. Front desk staff is friendly, helpful and professional. With just one visit, I can’t give too much advice on where to run. There are trails not far away that we will explore next time but for now, go out the entrance, go east to Refugio Rd., turn right and run over the mountains to the ocean if you can. Oh, to be younger. But, you can easily get a nice 5 to 10 miler in. There is a walking/bike path across the road as well. Enjoy! We did.
