First off, the staff was very friendly, and the morning breakfast was good. My wife and I have stayed here a few times. This time, of the five cottages, I was the unlucky one for getting the room without the jacuzzi (# 4) even though I booked four months ago. Okay, I can deal with that. What I am not okay with is paying $350 for a night and having to sleep on a 20 year old mattress that clearly needs to be replaced. I have slept on more comfortable mattresses in third world countries. Come on Wine Valley Inn, you can do better. For my next trip, I will go somewhere else nicer, and save $100.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. This is a great location and nice hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is a nice touch, leaving more money to spend on wine. The hotel is a block off the main road, so parking is easy and there is little or no noise in the rooms.

We stayed at the Wine Valley Inn because it was recommended by one of the wineries we visited. We won't stay there again. It's a bit down at the heels. The room was big, but the furniture is quite old and the two-seater couch was filthy. The bathroom was very old and musty. All this for sky high weekend rates. When we checked out on a Monday morning and asked why the clock tower bells rang at 4:30 am and woke us up, we were told that they are working on them and that they normally don't ring then. No apology. Yep - you read that right - the charming clock tower bells pealed at 4:30 am for a good 10 minutes on and off. C R A Z Y.

Cottage was larger than expected with a hot tub. Upstairs quite modern but furnishings downstairs need updating. Lovely grounds, decent breakfast. Very disappointed by reception reaction when i reported we had no hot water, no offer of refund or compensation.

This was our first stay at Wine Valley Inn in solvang. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The Junior suite was spacious and was able to be kept cool during one of the hottest times ever with outside temperatures being 107 to 109°. The staff was friendly and courteous and the grounds were well kept and clean. This hotel is within walking distance of pretty much all of solving. This hotel is also dog friendly which is a big plus. Can't wait to come back.

Love this place. Customer service and staff was excellent. This was our first time here loved every moment. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Breakfast okay but it is free so no complaints. Dog friendly too! Thank you Allysa and Cassie for the great customer service. Definitely coming back.

We chose the Wine Valley Inn & Cottages as a overnight stop on our way between Northern and Southern California. There was a small water feature near the cottages, which was lovely and we found the staff to be very nice. Overall the area was clean, quiet, walkable, and well situated for exploring Solvang. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was for the open parking lot. We were driving a full size truck and parking in underground garages can be a challenge. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot, but the lot is a bit small and when other guests asked where they should park the only option staff gave was to park on the street. There was a large municipal lot across the street, but overnight parking was not allowed. In addition to the parking access being less than we had hoped for, we found the room we were in to be quite small. In addition, the bed squeaked horribly (the mattress was rubbing on the platform) and it made for a sleepless night. The hotel was full or we would have asked for another room. Overall, the hotel was nice but we felt it was overpriced for the accommodations. We would most likely choose another hotel when visiting Solvang in the future.

The room was ok. Breakfast inedible and was set, provided and food quality was like a community food camp. There is a reason most people go for a single banana and cup of coffee. Absolutely a waist of resources. Breakfast included yes but not really.

We’ve stayed at the Wine Valley Inn a few times in the past, cottage with hot tub, but could only get one of the Village Tower King Jr. Suits, room 215 this trip. Check in was fine and the Desk Clerk was accommodating. The room itself was on the second floor tucked towards the east side of the hotel, next to a music venue. The room was large, which you’d expect in a Jr. Suite. The furniture in the room was older but still in good condition and the bed was comfortable. My main concern with the room was the steps from the living area to the area where the bed was. They were very steep and didn’t have any handrails to hold onto for safety while stepping down. If you look at the pictures in the hotel Webb Site it shows handrails in the Jr. Suite but Room #215 didn’t have them. To safely get down the steps we had to rearrange the chair in the bedroom so the back was facing the steps, grab hold of the support post, step down 1 step, grab the back of the chair and step down the other step to the bedroom floor. I find it hard to believe that this room past a building code inspection when put in especially when you consider that elderly folks rent this room. The owners of this hotel should consider the safety aspects of the room and install handrails. Mentioned this in the review that was sent out by the hotel. The second complaint is that the bathroom had a strong mildew order to it. Didn’t see any mildew so don’t know if it was covered over or where the smell was coming from. The third complaint was the loudness of the music coming from the venue next door. The hotel could at least tell you that you might hear the music if you stay in this room and let you decide if your willing to put up with the noise until late at nightfall. The breakfast that came with the room was one of the best breakfast I’ve had and the eggs were very tasty. The Hostess who worked in the breakfast room was very nice and helpful. Most of the staff we encountered were also very pleasant and always greeted you with a hello. The hotel has some good points but the bad points were overwhelming to me and we will not be staying here again.
