We stayed in Room 21 in the old section of the hotel. The room was large and charming, window boxes of red geraniums outside the double hung windows. The location was very convenient. I felt the room was very clean but there was a random shampoo bottle cap on the rim of the tub.The TV needs to be up graded... More

One of the two front desk staff members with whom I interacted during my two-night stay was shockingly unhelpful (not to say "inept"). When I first arrived on Sunday evening, the wireless network turned out to be down in the so-called "carriage house" (across the street from the main building), but first I had to spend a full hour trying... I had reserved 2 rooms for a birthday celebration. Check-in was fast and easy. Hotel is in an historic building. Very charming. Rooms were clean and well appointed. It is in an area where the homeless gather but we felt safe. Easy walking distance to the historic Railroad District. Breakfast was better then expected with fresh fruit, waffles etc. However,... Don't look for a warm welcome ,or a thank you as you depart when you stay here. Employees are more concerned texting and playing games on their phones . Barely look up at you. Was not impressed in any way at this hotel. The rooms are tired and in need of repair. Breakfast is a mediocre continental which leaves a... More

We stayed with friends for a weekend in Sonoma. The hotel is well located in the central tourist area. It has some slightly faded old charm. The room we had on the third floor was large and comfortable with a parking lot view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean. We asked for (and got) a senior... More

Santa Rosa has a surprisingly small number of hotels, given its location at the crossroads of several wine routes. Be careful, many accommodations tout themselves as "wine country inns" but are former motels in the more industrialized areas of town. To the contrary, the Hotel La Rose, on old Railroad Square, within walking distance of much of downtown Santa Rosa,... More
