Thought I'd write a review, since I found a lot of dated info in the reviews I read before our stay. The rooms are really nice and totally up to date, it could be that there was a re-model in the last year or so...More
I have been here numerous times.
Just left today, and as always they are the best on the beach bottomline.
Great customer service, great views and outstanding employees.
Close to all the attractions as well

Our stay at the Loews Hotel was pretty nice. I would have given it a better overall rating if it wasn't for the misleading information the front desk gave me. When we first checked-in my kids were eager to go to the pool so I...More

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

No idea on the size, but think if you contact the hotel they should be able to confirm the square footage of both the room and patio. From what I can recall having a room situated above the firepit rooms they were private, there's also a privacy hedge at street level. Reminder sound travels, so I was able to hear the conversation that was taking place below me.
