You get great value for money in this hotel. Large room and comfortable bathroom. Easy parking and close to the highway. It has an outside heated pool. Service in restaurant is extremely slow and not good, although the food is good. There was a wedding party going on when we were there, but we weren't disturbed by any noise at...

We stayed at the Paradox for only one night, and had a terrific stay. The hotel is newly remodeled and just became associated with the Marriott properties. It is not cheap, but is better thean nearly any of the usual motels in the area. They have free bikes (cruiser and electric (small charge for the e-bikes) which we took to...

Dear WhereToNextFamily, We're glad to hear you had terrific stay, and that you enjoyed our bike program and pool and hot tub. I do apologize that your experience in the restaurant fell below your expectations and ours...it seems some our restaurant team came down with surfers flu. I'm glad to hear we attended quickly to enhance the lighting in your...

Great staff, well designed upmarket motel, lovely pool, the nicest place in Santa Cruz it was only the price of the room on a Saturday night that let it down but we did get a discount which made it good value.

Was in the area attending a wedding and most of the bridal party was staying here. The rooms are clean and good size, they have a nice eat in restaurant, bar, pool and Jacuzzi open for guests. The hotel ended up being the location of the After Party and the bar was very accommodating for the large party, loud noises...

Traveling through Santa Cruz and decided to stay at the Paradox mostly because I'm a loyal Marriott customer. That being said the hotel is great clean and very comfortable rooms. The staff at the Resturant and Front Desk were excellent both helpful and engaging. These were not isolated to just a few, everyone I encountered went the extra mile to...

This is an interesting little hotel in the middle of Santa Cruz, not far from downtown or the beach. The strawberry lemonade in the lobby was fantastic. The lobby is contemporary rustic, and the rooms were beautifully themed. The pool was nice, the hot tub nicer. The hotel restaurant was a little pricey but the food was good and the...

The hotel provided a modern, stylish version of the original motel. Despite a loud wedding causing much disturbance during our stay the staff were considerate and took care of us generously. The restaurant and pool area seemed nice and the place felt friendly and clean.

I'm always on the lookout for unique hotels, and this fit the bill for a recent weekend in Santa Cruz with my wife, especially as Marriott gold members. Unfortunately some aspects were not what we wanted. First the positives. This remake of the traditional 60s hotel is unique - with serious attention to luxury on the inside. Great beds, luxury...

The rooms are pretty standard but the rest of the property is a real stand-out. The staff were incredibly attentive and there is nothing like its pool and bar for making you feel you're in Italy (even if you have to wear a sweater in the fog!).

This hotel is a real find. The ambience is lovely. Check in staff were very nice and swiftly sorted out a small problem with our room. This set the tone for our stay.
