The room smelled bad. Carpets were worn. The furniture was stained and beat up. The heater didn't have a grill and was full of debris/the knobs were clearly filthy. When your neighbor showers, it sounds like a jet plane landing in the building. The walls are thin. (they do provide a set of ear plugs, though). Ha. On the flip...

We spent one night at Ocean Pacific Lodge on a road trip. We had a room with two queen sized beds. When we walked in, there was a faint smell of paint so it seemed the room had been recently updated. The room was clean and fairly roomy. The big thing was a very large shower with two shower heads....

Decent decor and room not too cramped. We had two small carry-on-sized suitcases, if we'd had two full-sized suitcases, I am not sure where we would have placed them. Microwave and refrigerator were great. Good TV channels (including HBO). Room service took care of our room well. Noisy upstairs neighbors. Of the three nights we stayed there we were awake...

Our daughter goes to UC Santa Cruz and we have been staying at the Ocean Pacific Lodge since day 1....actually before...we stayed here during the "touring" colleges and now she will graduate in March 2013. The value has been great, the location...right next to the beach but also close to downtown. In the last year they have added: new bedding,...

Our daughter goes to school at UC Santa Cruz and for the last 4 1/2 years, we have been sampling the good and bad motel and hotels of Santa Cruz. Basically, the majority of the motels are old, tired and not maintained at all and we couldn't tell you of a good one. In addition, the families and owners actually...

I booked this hotel, because it claimed to have wireless internet, breakfast, etc.. I just needed a place to crash as I was on a quick business trip. Their website lies! There is no wireless internet! When I spoke to the front desk manager he said it was down, I asked for how long, he chuckled back "forever". He didn't...

We booked this at the last minute for a rate under 75$ but I would have paid more. They said their wife was down, but it worked for us. A spacious room with two queens, fridge, and continental b'fast. Close to downtown and very short walk to West Cliff. The breakfast room is large. We stayed on the 3rd floor...

Within walking distance from shops, the boardwalk and the wharf. I had what was probably the noisiest room, since I was on the corner next to the round about and for me, it wasn't as bad as other "quiet" hotels have been. Nice room and decent breakfast. Ended up as a solo trip so I ended up going for lots...

This place is fab. We booked on the day and got 50% off the rack rate. Easy parking. Cheap DIY laundry facility. Decent breakfast - they have a waffle iron (not my thing but cool if you like making waffles!) and loads of syrup to go with it. Easy walk to the wharf and the boardwalk. And super efficient and...

my title says it all: its a good hotel if you want to spend some time with your friends or family. We came by car, had a good parking space and the rooms were ready. Only the water in the whirlpool was brownish, so not that recommendable. But since its close to the ocean (5min walk) its worth the money...
