I've been here a couple of times...never had a bad experience.. I don't drive, so I get around by bus or hitchhike. Met a guy who wanted a place to crash and he found this place...It was my first time here. Check in was quick...get to the room...your basic motel room. No strange sticky stuff on the bed or walls or floor. TV worked, found a fun adult channel, set the mood. Bathroom was ok clean....room for 2...finished up...hit the bed...no bugs...no strange marks or stains. Bed was comfy, did what it was designed for. I left after a couple of hours, people outside, hanging out...Made friends with a couple of guys who were staying....same type of room...messy cuz that's how guys are but clean...like the other room. I spend a lot of time in motels and been in some where the beds are weak, saggy, beyond worn out. The beds here are strong and comfortable...We slept ok. This is my fave motel when I come up to Santa Barbara...The area is good for making friends and avoiding drama.

I've travelled all over the world and had to stay in some serious dives, but this was a new low. The hotels in Santa Barbara, CA are all expensive and I didn't want to invest a lot for a single night so stayed at the Town and Country. When I checked in the room positively REEKED of bleach. It was overpowering so I opened up the windows and fan and left for dinner, figuring it would air out. After around two hours I came back and the stench was so strong it made my eyes burn. It was a dumpy room and the hotel was pretty sketchy. Guys sitting around smoking and drinking. A guy in a Land Rover dropped off what looked very much like a hooker and left as fast as he could. I tried to lay down but my eyes were burning and I realized there was no hope of sleeping here. I went to the office and asked for a refund. The room was unfit for human habitation. The chemical burn was unbearable. They flat refused. They were rude, snotty and refused a refund. It got rather heated and I saw a police officer outside so I went to talk to him about it. He told me he has a LOT of problems with the property and it's pretty notorious in town for all the sketchy things that go on there. The officer went into the room and was appalled and talked to the owners and they were rude to him as well. I just packed up my things and left. Avoid this place like the plague. Spend more or keep driving.

I drove by this motel. Based on what I saw, I would never stay there. There are weeds everywhere. The furniture looks to be shoved against the curtains in one of the rooms. There was an old chair outside one of the rooms. It was scary looking.

We arrived in Santa Barbara without a booking, town was full and ended up booking here. Room was basic but adequate, clean, if small. Great location, close to centre of Santa Barbara and manager was very helpful. Close to Mission.

We stayed 1 night in room 702. The carpet had HUGE NASTY stains, the walls were dirty, the entrance door was so dirty I literally cleaned a X on it!! We smelled URINE ALL NIGHT and couldn't sleep. DON'T BOOK THIS NASTY FILTHY MOTEL!!! It's literally like out of a porn movie! I booed this with Booking.com and they will not do anything about this. I have to call my credit card company and fight with them! I'm MAD!!! I want my $157.53 refunded!!!
