Close to the waterfront and shopping and restaurants. Staff is very friendly. We stayed in a single queen the first visit last year but this trip had a double queen room which was perfect and much larger. The hotel is perfectly located for everything one wants to do in Santa Barbara. There is a large assortment of food in the...

This is a nice hotel in a handy location downtown. Booked a single queen because that's all we needed. But, be aware; the single queen room is tiny. Barely room to turn around in. The double queen booked by our friends was much larger and not much more $$.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback regarding the size of your room. The hotel was built in 1926 and at the time was a residential hotel with bathrooms down the halls. When the hotel was renovated in the 90's, each room was given a bathroom. Because of that every room is unique! Each floor has an identical footprint but the...

The hotel is a very good property to stay at. Clean, quiet, and centrally located. If it is your first time in the area and history is something you like much of old Santa Barbara is within a few blocks of the hotel.

I've stayed here in the past twice and was very happy. What has changed: they not only hold the cost of the room on your card(expected) but now also apply a $150.00 "incidental" charge. When I asked what incidentals could total $150, (no drinks or food in the room, nor do I need parking, I was told this was in...

Hi Judy, We are sorry that you weren't fully satisfied with your stay. We pride ourselves on providing the best experience for our guests, especially our return customers. We have always had a $150.00 incidentals deposit, but we release the hold on the account upon check-out. We are glad that the front desk as able to move you and we...

We booked this hotel based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is quaint, comfortable, quiet and reasonably priced! They have placed airplane glass over the windows so despite being on State Street, our room was very quiet. The room comes with a Keurig coffee maker, small refrigerator and room safe. The décor was tasteful and the bed...

My husband and I live in Los Angeles and visit Santa Barbara frequently. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and it is always a good experience. I'm giving it 5 stars not because it's a luxury hotel, but because it meets all the important criteria for a wonderful stay - cleanliness, comfort, customer service and close to the...

Our family stayed two nights in February in two rooms. The room with two queen beds was very spacious and nice. The other room with just one queen bed was small and cramped. The bathroom also had a strange odor. Other than that, it is a good location. However, You will see some homeless people hanging around the front door....

Thank you for your review! Guest feedback is very important to us. The hotel was built in 1926 and all of our rooms vary in size and layout as you experienced. Next time you come and stay with us we will try to accommodate you in one of our larger queens. :)

The location is right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. There are lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood and interesting shops. I didn't give them five stars because it would be nice if they had a lobby bar. Someplace to have a quiet drink when you come back for the night.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our night in Hotel Santa Barbara. This place has been around for awhile, but it has been carefully and beautifully updated. Our room was small but comfortable. Lots of creature comforts: pillow-top bed, robes, Keurig coffee -- the tile floor in the bathroom was even warmed! The hotel is perfectly located: an easy walk...

Hi Carolyn, Thank you for your lovely review. We are so happy that you were able to experience our unique downtown location. We are delighted to hear that the tiles in the bathroom weren't cold, but we must admit that they aren't intentionally heated. Regardless, we are glad you had an enjoyable stay and we hope you return again soon.

You cannot beat the location of Hotel Santa Barbara. It is smack in the middle of State Street and makes visiting Santa Barbara a breeze.
