This was a clean, comfortable hotel in the middle of State Street that gave me easy access to the center of town. The hotel uses a valet parking lot behind the hotel which costs $10 a day - not too expensive, but very convenient. There are some very nice restaurants within a block or two from the hotel. The hotel...

We stay here because of the great location right on State street. The rooms are comfortable, nice bed in King rooms. Basic breakfast and close to great restaurants. The elevator is fun even if it is a piece of history. Price is reasonable all things considered.

My review of this hotel was quite positive. In fact, it is one of the nicer boutique hotels I've visited. Unfortuneatly I accidentally tapped one star instead of five. I feel terrible. Hope you go on to read my review from last year. My apologies!!

Okay. Have to tell the truth. I'm getting old. Graduated from UCSB quite a long time ago. Back then, this place was a flea bag hotel in a not very nice section of State Street. In fact, one of the black and white photos lining our room's corridor was taken a few years before I started at UCSB showed rooms...

First tip: do not go there. If you must, avoid rooms next to the elevator since almost the whole building can hear that people are using it. Even if you avoid those rooms bring earplugs because the fridge (dated from the 60's) will make more noise than a mustang. Similarly the air condition. Since most likely you will not be...

We love guest comments and appreciate your feedback! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed our guest service and will pass on the compliment to our staff. Our historic elevator gets many comments – some love it and some don’t, and we’re sorry noise from the elevator disrupted your stay. We’re surprised to hear that the refrigerator bothered you as well...

It was a pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff were polite and friendly. Room was small about 240 square feet. However, it had comfortable bed, desk with chair, very small table and chair, and night stand. Everything was small but nice, and clean. Location is great near shopping walking mall, and historic buildings.

It has the feel of a beautiful Hotel from the 1930's era. Yet has pretty much all the new technology updates for WIFI and computer. The renovations are very well done, and don't take away from History or Character of the hotel.

Hotel Santa Barbara is one of those long standing, family owned hotels that keeps the customer first in every situation. They have wonderful rooms, dedicated and polite staff and a great location in the downtown area, but also close to the beach. Love it!

We recently spent the weekend in Santa Barbara and stayed at the Hotel Santa Barbara. The hotel's location is excellent - right in the middle of shopping and dining. But visitors should keep in mind the age of the hotel. While the rooms have been updated, the walls are paper thin. Avoid any "01" room as they are next to...

Thank you for your review of the hotel. The hotel has many features original to its construction in 1926, including the cage lift elevator (which has been modified to today's safety standards). We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will be back soon.

This hotel is in beautiful Santa Barbara. The newly remodeled hotel is in walking distance to the beach, pier, and marina. Great food and shopping all around this hotel. The staff are amazing, super accommodating and friendly.
