Earlier I wrote a review assigning 4 points. With this stay 5 points. Tonight, in rainy weather 7:00 pm I met Michael Williams the assistant manager. He had his suit coat on a hanger not to get wet. He also had a flyer distributed, "If your stay is less than perfect, please let us know so we may fix it". I tried to show him the earlier review as I had shown it to the check in people but feel I hit the wrong key and it disappeared. The food here is better than a Westin. Breakfast out of this world. Buffett and regular combined. Eggs cooked the way ordered. Buffett, cheeses, meats, melons (2 types), scrambled eggs, porridge, dry cereals, pastries, orange and apple juice. The potatoes come with seasoned peppers. Full bar up and running. Already the motif of Thanksgiving is on the walls. Rooms have microwave and refrigerators. Safeway is just down the driveway in a shopping center. Starbucks is there too and a Walgreens. At the other end is Macy's, Rite Aid, Supercuts. But all of this is hidden from view as the hotel sits like a mother bird guarding her nest. Rooms have 2 chairs. One to relax the other for work at the desk. Painting adorn the walls and a full length is on the door leading to the bathroom. Closet is huge, almost a walk in. Conviently located off the 101. Tour Frank Lloyd Wright's last project, The Marin Civic Center across the 101. Pillows are huge. Each half the width of the bed. Carpeting appears fresh, along with that in the hallway. Met a guest in the elevator and he agrees this Four Points is better than most. Sux beers on tap. The overhead lighting looks like wine glasses suspended upside down with a lightbulb in each!!! Small pantry. Plenty of glass walls, sort of an Eichler effect as he built a tract of homes near by. Business computer is in the lobby, no fear of missing a cell phone call in a closed cubicle. Lobby is lamented so wet feet coming in will not ruin any carpeting. PARKING IS FREE Hot tub spewing steam next to the OPEN POOL. All in all this is a 5 point property. ZEN like gardens surround this island of beauty. Looking ahead in compliance with the law of 2022, the shampoo, body wash and lotion are nicely mounted on the tub wall. The law is meant to reduce plastic pollution. I cannot put my finger on it. But the Feng Sui of the property is just right. Jeffery Irbing, the general manager is to be congratulated as nit only do the physical aspects of the hotel work, but the software (people) fir perfectly.

Not being completely familiar with the area, I don't know exactly what constitutes 'San Rafael', but this hotel is quite a long way north of what I would have thought is San Rafael and where I needed to be. It's actually in a town called Terra Linda. Notwithstanding that, it's a very impressive property that offers affordable luxury. The hotel is modern and seems fairly new, sitting on a small hill overlooking Terra Linda. Not that there's much to see in this very small town, but the distant hills look quite nice. The modern lobby is welcoming, as are the very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and have an easy chair as well as a large desk space and working chair. There's a fridge, microwave, tea & coffee, as well as a safe, ironing board & iron. Good space for luggage and the closet holds a lot of clothing. There's a huge flat screen TV, but I didn't use it, so I don't know what channels are offered. There's good lighting and power points and the WIFI is reliable and free, although frustratingly, you have to keep logging back in at least every 24 hours, sometimes more. The beds are very comfortable, with clean linens, although housekeeping is a bit limited due to staff issues. Even on the day they were meant to come, they didn't. No huge issue. Bathrooms are small, but adequate and come with a powerful shower and bath tub. Good amenities and although the towels were a bit on the thin and rough side, they were certainly clean. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was excellent. Huge value for money. There's everything you could ask for and a great variety. If it's not in your rate, I'd highly recommend buying it as it's very good value. There's a pool, outside patio, weights room and ample parking, but there's not a huge amount to do in the locale. It helps that the hotel is comfortable and a nice place to hang in the evenings. It's a bit pricey, but it is a Sheraton and the amenities reflect the room rate. You won't find much cheaper in Marin and if you do, it will be much lower quality.

The hotel is in a great central location. The property is large but there are several secure entrances at the different parking areas so you have quick access to your car without having to walk through the lobby. The buildings are older but well maintained. All of the staff I encountered were professional and friendly. I needed extra towels and was surprised at how quickly they arrived. The room was very clean with a large tv and comfortable bed. About what you would expect from a Marriott Courtyard. My only complaint is the shampoo and body wash in the rooms. The brand is 'ACTIV' and the fragrance is overpowering. They have dispensers in the shower saving on the waste of small plastic bottles. I have had similar in other hotels and I like it. But here it is like bathing in perfume. It was like I sprayed myself with Axe Body Spray after toweling off. This hotel is a great choice and a good value. I just have to remember to bring my own soap and shampoo next time.

The location of this hotel made it a quick drive to Sausalito and Muir Woods. Just minutes from the highway it offers plenty of free parking. The hotel is very clean and updated. Rooms are comfortable with mini fridge, microwave and safe. The check-in was quick and hand sanitizer is available next to the elevators. We didn't use the pool but it's a very pretty area. Would definitely recommend and stay here whenever back in the area.

Since the hotel is in San Rafael, it gets plenty of sun when Tiburon and Sausalito are foggy. So you can actually use the pool. John checked us in and found a place to store our bikes so we didn't have to haul it into and out of our room. Thank you! The room and hotel were clean, parking was free, it was a good location safety wise, and the free WiFi worked well. There was also a good sized fridge in the room along with a microwave and safe. There were a couple of glitches with the TV but overall everything went well. If you're a light sleeper, request a room facing away from the freeway. It didn't bother us, in fact the lights at night were pretty cool to see from the room.
