We enjoyed this quaint lodge. It’s an older lodge and has been well maintained. It’s clean and the neighborhood was quiet. It is operated by friendly people. It’s difficult to see oncoming traffic as you depart the lodge so, that is a concern. We would definitely stay here again.
Loved this stop. Good parking felt more secure than the street. Rooms had a good vibe, as did the entire property. Fairly priced for the location. Our non-smoking queen deluxe was comfortable and up-to-date.
Rooms were immaculate and nicely furnished. Everything was excellent including complimentary drinks on arrival and quick-breakfast in the morning. Staff accommodating and friendly. Nice amenities for a motel. Have absolutely no issues but just praise.
This is a darling, quaint and quiet motel that has been redone and is extremely clean and comfortable. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. It is one-story, which makes it very easy for those who have mobility challenges, and parking is right outside the door, which makes it even easier.
We arrived at the motel around 7:30 pm. Check in was quick. Upon entering the room we noticed the lay out of the two queen beds was a bit odd. Not next to each other like most room..but ok. The room looked clean. We wanted some ice for our water but noticed there was not an ice bucket. Went to the front desk and the young man handed me a small bag with ice in it...not a ziploc bag. So how am I supposed to keep the ice in the bag when I put it on the table?? The room had a microwave which was great for heating up our dinner left overs. I went to take a shower and proceeded to put my shampoo and things on the shelf in the shower but it was slanted so everything fell off. Turned on the shower and the water came out of the shower. Tried to adjust the shower head but it wouldn't move so now we have a flood in the bathroom. Closed the curtain which helped a bit. We had to ask for more towels to mop up the water. Lovely. We turned on the AC and it sounded like a jet engine was taking off in our room. So loud. The next morning I tried to make coffee but the coffee machine was broken. Went to grab some breakfast at the front desk and it was pre packaged danishes and muffins. The plus is the beds are comfy, free parking, mini fridge We might give this place another try in the future....maybe…
I think for the money it is one of the best places to stay in Marin. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I should know, I've been staying at the Marin Lodge for over twenty years.
Wonderful place to stay! Clean room and comfortable bed. Nice and quiet and they do have air conditioning. Easy to find and easy to get around.. They had soft nice towels, and a friendly staff. Delicious muffins and fruit were waiting for you in the lobby in the morning. Would stay here again if in the area!
A smaller cute cottage style hotel. It is a hotel that has everything you need but if you want something luxury this is not your place. Don’t get me wrong, I highly recommend this hotel but is a bit more simple. The breakfast is quite simple but ok. The owners are SO nice people, always willing to help and answer questions. The hotel is located in a good area. We used the ferry from Larkspur to get to San francisco. Close to Muir Woods if you want to go there. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good priceworthy place to stay in the bay area.
Let me begin by saying I believe this is our 10th visit here. That should speak volumes. Spotless rooms on a quiet street. NO fee for your car. Super friendly and nice owners. Comfortable beds with large tv. Good wifi. Great place for day trips to all of the Bay Area! Baseball, football, Murr Woods, Napa, concerts, hikes! To go to San Francisco and avoid the tolls and parking fees and hassle we take the ferry over, Senior discount! Book early!
I got very lucky a few days prior to the trip with availability. This place seems to be sold out often. Now I know why. The rate, especially in Marin County, is an awesome value. Rooms are decent, you have a parking space, and you're close to downtown San Rafael. You also have easy access to Highway 101. I always bring ear plugs, so you never know. I had a quite noisy neighbor around 10pm and you can hear Highway 101. You don't have upstairs neighbors. Now for deducting a point - the condition of the room around the door is cracking and you can actually see light coming through the crevices of the door. The curtains aren't very good at blocking out the lights from under the eaves - not sure why they would be located at your window. Despite this, it's my "go-to" place when I decide to make an all-day trip to Point Reyes.…
