My boyfriend and arrived late on a Sunday night, without a reservation and after having no luck finding a hotel in San Fransisco. It was around 11pm, the owner was the BEST. He gave us a king sized bed for the price of a queen, and he even allowed us to pay the same amount the next day when we...

I saw good reviews on TripAdvisor for this place (through the Hipmunk app, which uses TripAdvisor for reviews), and since I didn't find any extra vacancy anywhere else and I procrastinated, I reserved a room. It was a huge, epic mistake. I checked in, which was an experience in and of itself, and then went to my room. The first...

Stayed here for exactly 30 minutes last evening when I discovered bedbugs in the room and bloody stains on the bedskirt. Found a live bedbug on the bedskirt and crushed it and it was full of blood. Luckily bedbugs do not carry diseases that humans can catch (in the way that ticks carry lime disease, for example). They are harmless...

I like to stay out of the city - cheaper, free parking, quick drive on the 101 to get into town. I find this hotel consistent in what it offers but there is one quirk. The bed frame is longer than the mattress and everytime I walk past the bed, I bump into the frame and bruise my leg. Additionally,...

The big (misleading) plus: Close to the San Mateo Convention Center. Granted it's a walk through a back alley, possible sweat shops, and close by the South Bay's largest XXX store (neon purple lights on a black building). The proximity, never having been here before was the only reason I chose to stay here, that and the fact that there...

Stayed here for just an overnight stay and to start off the surrounding neighborhood didn't make me feel all that safe but once in the parking lot of the hotel it seemed just fine. The place looked liked it has been remodel recently and they did a great job at making it look nice! The room was a bit on...

We came here for our honeymoon. Being newlyweds and on a budget, Stone Villa Inn was our choice because of the price. The neighborhood seems kind of sketchy at first although there were some delicious Asian restaurants around. The hotel was clean but the best amenities were the tv and the shower. Big table near the closet made it hard...

A little pricey for San Mateo but Stone Villa is in the last stage of a really thorough overhaul. Maybe they left vestiges of the packaging on the tv, lamp and clothes iron to remind you of it, but everything in our twin room was clean and worked well. The walk in closet, about 8' square, allowed plenty of bedroom floor...

A reasonably clean and centrally located motel - one is better off to skip the free breakfast and walk three blocks north to Heidi's Pies restaurant. Good Mexican and pizza restaurants across the street to the south of the motel. For those without a car: Shuttle Express from SFO airport was $23 with tip, but Adam's cab was $10 more...

Stayed there for two nights; it was a clean hotel, but the beds were hard and traveling with my two teenage daughters the bathroom arrangement was inadequate and there was not an area outside of the bathroom with a mirror and outlet. The pillows were also very thin and the breakfast was ok, but the room inwhch to each was...

  • Desk - paint loss
  • carpet - dirty corners and by baseboard (never cleaned?)

  • Inner bathroom door spots (blood?)
  • toilet roll handle
