The outside of the hotel is lovely, but beware of your selection of room. The room I selected looks nothing like the room on the website. We were planning on a long term stay and had to make other arrangements.
Absolutely loved this hotel, we stayed in the two bedroom cottage with our two kids right on the water. It had two fridges, a microwave, a toaster, cups and silverware. The living room area was huge that opened up to a large patio that faced the water with a fire pit. Our master bedroom was all updated with huge bath, that water fell from the ceiling to fill it up and a big shower. Upon checking in we got 4 free drinks at the grill, ten percent off food and a bucket of balls to hit. My sons favorite thing was the light show at night. Definitely will be coming back.
I believe its way overdue; staff have never experienced what a Quality Resort Offers Guests when they are paying over $450.00 per Night for a Resort. The Hilton Waikoloa would be a start to "open the eyes" of staff what "REAL SERVICE LOOKS LIKE". Guests travel by Air from all over the world and they leave a few things home. Their Refrigerator, their kitchen, and their desire to worry about anything. Its called a Get-Away. They expect to be Catered to during their stay. If they wanted to think and worry about everything during their Get-Away, they would be down the street at the 6 Motel, Hampton Inn. Maybe Management's Goal is to run the place into the Ground? Old Properties are fine if well maintained. The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills has been around for over 100 Years and still looks Great, with Great Customer Service. No Excuses from any Employee. Whether you are the Pool Cleaner, Housekeeping Staff, Retail Store, Maintenance Staff or Administration. You all own every guests issues until properly addressed. By the Management sending you on a weekend of being pampered at a "Real Resort" you will be able to return to the Lakefront and put what you learned into action. Every Member of the Team should be meeting or exceeding the demands of guests, so there are no complaints. I personally have paid less for a room at the Waikoloa Hilton Resort and actually saw Resort Staff exceeding the expectations of their guests. The number of positive reviews at this Resort is questionable.…
A refreshing beach-y lobby and welcoming staff set the stagefor a good introduction to the property. Our room but needed a teensy bit of maintenance in that the toilet had difficulty with the least bit of paper. Mystified by the lack of washcloths on arrival,we concluded they must have taken a different flight as they did arrive during the next day's' refresh. Beds are comfy but a bit stiff for me but I was pleased with the selection of pillows to choose from for my best night's sleep. Points off for the bottled water--it comes from Italy. Nice touch but it leaves a big footprint. I'd also be more comfortable with a better/double lock on the door. The twist lock is okay but I would appreciate something a bit more secure. The boat rental experience was a good one if I exclude the check-in, guest form/ QR code experience. It was just a little awkward/amateurish but that could have been due to the fact there was a large group of high school graduates in line in front of us demanding a lot of attention. Our small pontoon was in great shape and the cruise around the lake made for a nice way to kill an hour waiting for our room to be ready. Amalfi restaurant on the property (privately operated) has great wait staff and a varied menu offering some superb entrees. Breakfast and lunch at the Grill on the golf course can't be beat (easily walked). Food was delicious, prices reasonable and, again, the wait staff is amazing. The golf course needs some attention to the copious amount of ground under repair which, coupled with the golf carts programmed to avoid them, makes for a less-than-enjoyable round of golf. The cart paths also need quite a bit of attention. The course is demanding and, other than the GUR, it's quite a good track overall. Putting was a challenge while we were there due to PGA qualifying taking place the day before play. …
Don't waste your money on this property, bug infested from the lake which is brown, dark rooms, and too expensive for what you get. Hospitality was poor, hard to work with, their answers were pretty company standard.
Very clean rooms, beautiful lake view room, friendly service at the front desk and in the room. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone that wishes to stay in this area. 2 thumbs up. We will defiantly stay here again.
We were disappointed with the standard of the rooms compared with the cost. They are considerably overpriced compared to most 5 star resorts we’ve been to. It was more like a nice motel. The $25/ night resort fee was not made known to us before we arrived and was outrageously expensive for no obvious benefit. The furniture was outdated. We paid $50 extra for pool view, and had a view of terraces. The check in desk was hard to find and not labeled. We were disappointed to see the “nickel and diming” that took place with items for sale, eg: $5 for a muffin. On the positive side, the housekeeping service was excellent and very friendly. The lake was beautiful.
Our family had a blast! The staff was wonderful and the rooms were clean and great! The room service was also delicious and very quick! We had a great time and can’t wait to stay here again this summer!
Great Rooms, Great Staff, Great Food. Lovely Golf Course. Los Angeles County Women's Golf Association had a group Golf Tournament at St Marks which is part of the Lake House. Staff and Employees were awesome. Course was fun and challenging.
The grounds were beautiful, peaceful, and serene. The room had a memory foam mattress (which was really comfortable), fridge and large shower. We had a view of the lake which was nice. There were 2 restaurants within walking distance, Amalfi's and the Grill (where in room meals came from) . I would definitely recommend this place . I did not take points off for ordering from room service- we got our hot breakfast delivered without utensils, and it took them over half hour to come back with them. The only complaint I have is there was no safe in the room to keep valuables.
