This was a last minute trip so we know that's why the room was pricey. The room was decent but not as clean as it should have been. Hair in shower and on floor. Also, our room was in the very back and with construction it was difficult to access. Breakfast was good and location was great! So near to many things. …
I'm actually sitting in the room writing this because it's so awful here. First, the girl at the front desk was cold and acted like I was bothering her making her do her job when I checked in. I parked in the back which is the only place to park and it was scary. It is so dark that it is unsafe and a major security issue. Next, the directions to get to the rooms are so unclear that I couldn't find my room. As I'm walking around I hear people partying everywhere, doors open and people yelling back and forth. And the stench of pot is all over the place. I got in my room, which has a bad odor to it and there were two moths flying around to greet me. There are loud conversations going on everywhere around me and I can hear everything through the paper-thin walls. I called the front desk and asked the same girl if there was another room somewhere in the hotel with less people. I explained I am on a business trip and have to get up early. (Not to mention I explained to her I am pregnant and sick and need to get sleep.) And she responds "I don't have any other rooms" with the most nonchalant, I could-care-less attitude. The parking lot is a quarter full. I say "you don't have ANY other rooms in this entire hotel?" She says no, not any that aren't assigned to people. I can tell people to quiet down. I asked, "there's really no way you can do anything to help?" She said "like I said, I can try and tell people to quiet down." I told her that wasn't going to help because there were people everywhere talking loudly. It was coming from everywhere. Again, she could not care less. It was just like a "well, I guess that just sucks for you, huh?" attitude. I travel a lot for work. I have never had an experience this bad in a hotel traveling for business. It's an awful place to stay for business travelers. Do not stay here if you are looking for sleep comfort or customer service. The customer service is non-existent. And the pictures on the website are SO deceptive. I work for a massive government agency and you better believe that the second I get the opportunity I will be letting the administrative section in charge of travel issues know that this hotel should not be included as one to be used for our employees. Disgraceful.…
This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We always get a balcony room with a view of the pool and palm trees. Breakfast is exceptional with fresh cut fruit and two types of scrambled eggs. This is one of the best Best Western Plus hotels.
The Royal Oak is the best Best Western I've ever stayed in. The staff placed us in a first floor pet friendly room at my request. The lobby is lovely and the staff was helpful. Each room has a balcony which allowed our dog to get outside. The hotel has a dog area that is fenced so it is basically a small dog park and you can let the dog off leash. The free hot breakfast was great and their coffee was excellent. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. They have laundry facilities there as well. The location was great. Across the street was a mall with a Sprouts and Ralphs. There were also restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera and Chipotle. And the hotel was 10 minutes from Pismo beach. This hotel is a great choice, even if you are not traveling with a dog.…
The front desk is rude, not helpful she could not give me directions to my room, she did not give me any hotel information like the evening drinks, the breakfast, where the fitness room was! The beds are so hard my entire body hurt the next day. The rooms are outdated, and the lobby is small. Overall i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone i knew. bathroom was small not enough room for 2 people to get ready. …
