Located in downtown San Luis Obispo's historic core and the heart of California’s Central Coast, Garden Street Inn offers old-world hospitality with new-century passion. Locals call it SLO; offering excellent shopping, first-class restaurants, wine-tasting, art galleries and museums. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the rolling hills and coastal valleys, SLO lies just a short drive from Avila Beach, Morro Bay, and Pismo Beach. Golf, tennis, biking, and hiking opportunities abound. SLO hosts a myriad of local tourist attractions, including world renowned vineyards and wineries, California missions, iconic museums, and breathtaking beaches. Classic decor reflects Victorian charm in our uniquely boutique hotel - many with fireplaces and private decks. Grab a book from the well-stocked Goldtree Library, or sip your morning coffee on our spacious outdoor communal deck. Meet the chef in preparation of a delicious breakfast each morning which is served in the McCaffrey Morning Room.

I really enjoyed my stay at this B&B. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The inn is absolutely charming and has been beautifully decorated. It hasn’t been overdone so it has a simple stylish elegance which suits the historic mansion perfectly. I was in Our Town, a lovely queen room upstairs with a jacuzzi tub that was wonderful to relax in after a long day. The breakfast I had was delicious and the coffee was very high quality. I highly recommend the Garden Street Inn!

Really a delightful stay...ideal location within walking distance to so many shops, restaurants, bars...and the ever impressive Thursday Farmers Market! Wonderful, peaceful feel throughout...you just feel stress leaving you when you walk in the doors. Tasty, creative breakfasts, too. We stayed upstairs, in front, in a room with a small parlor and were very comfortable. Very quiet, private. Also, the room was comfortable even during warm August days...even the air conditioner was whisper-quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is the sweetest gem! The hospitality was amazing! Holly was there to greet us and Lauren to wave us farewell and both were extremely delightful! The room itself was quaint, homie, and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back to SLO just to stay here and enjoy how perfect of a place it is for a getaway. AND..the homemade breakfast in the morning! Absolutely delicious and such a nice touch to the stay!

Charming hotel with hands down the best breakfasts! Wonderful staff and large bedrooms. I arrived late and it was a simple check in. After an exhausting trip finding a jacuzzi in your bathroom was a god sent ! I ll be back!

I love this hotel and stay here whenever I’m in SLO. It’s quaint and well appointed and the staff are great! There’s a lovely fireplace in the lobby that’s great for striking conversations with strangers. And they have free breakfast everyday!!

We had a wonderful stay in the Emerald Isle room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and stylish. The shower was very nice, too. The breakfast options smelled amazing, but we didn’t sample them this time. My travel companion has celiac disease, so we were a little wary. However, next time we will inform the staff ahead of time because one of the breakfast specials gluten free. A return stay is definitely in our future!

Very hospitable boutique Inn. Room was clean and spacious with a King bed and small sitting area. Great location and walkable to several great restaurants. Had coffee/tea and tasty snickerdoodle cookies at check in. Also had self serve wine during "happy hour" and got to meet a few other guests. Although we needed to leave early before breakfast the next morning the host put together a continental breakfast box for us to take. It was all the little extras that would bring us back to stay here again if we were in the area.

This is a wonderful B&B in San Luis Obispo. Great location in the center of town. Easy walk to everything. It is very well maintained and clean. We stayed in the first floor king suite and found it spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great, too. Highly recommended!

Every communication with the Garden Street Inn was friendly and helpful. The Inn itself is in the middle of downtown (of the loveliest small town in the US, no doubt), so you will be a pleasant stroll from wonderful dining, shopping, and amusements. The facility is in a lovingly restored late-1800s Victorian house. Beautifully curated antiques are throughout the guest rooms and the shared spaces. Our room was a suite--and we did not have to pay extra for it. Included breakfasts truly are homemade and hot--we had fresh bagels with caramelized onions and eggs the first morning, and a Moroccan variation on shakshuka the next morning. Our service dog was welcomed and brought smiles everywhere we went. We ended up having wonderful conversations with other guests around the dining room table (in the old-school way of bed-and-breakfasts), and we enjoyed having tea, coffee, and lemon water available at all times as well as a happy hour in the afternoon--with complementary wine. My only regret about telling you how wonderful our stay was at the Garden Street Inn is that it might encourage others to stay there--and the rooms are often sold out as it is. My advice is to book early. And enjoy!…

Thank you for such kind feedback. We are thrilled to hear you had such a lovely time! Breakfast is our favorite time of the day and brings us all so much joy when our guests feel the same way. Though we may be small and have limited availability at times, we've always got room for snuggly service dogs at the Garden Street Inn. We truly look forward to hosting you all again in the future, and wish you safe travels until then.
