The Hotel was in a great location and lovely. The Concierge was very helpful and lobby and bar areas were very nice. However our room was very noisy. I sensed it came from the speakers from another room. The mattress was was very uncomfortable.
Very easy seamless check in Lori at the front desk was very cheerful and welcoming. The reception happy hour later in the evening is very accommodating hosted by Brittany and Josh who were over the top nice and bubbly. Food and drink made our stay even better ! The lobby is decorated nice and the property is very well kept! Will definitely stay there again!!
The property is a really nice, modern hotel. It had a very cohesive look and style, from the lobby to the rooms and to the rooftop area (where we enjoyed a drink) and the pool. Pluses: - Our room was very comfortable with nice, new design. - A nightcap on the rooftop was a nice experience. - The location was perfect to access downtown SLO. Minuses: The staff overall was friendly enough - but I'd called and emailed the hotel prior to booking and prior to our stay about the availability of a particular amenity in the room and....no one seemed to understand what the question was. Frankly, this should not have been a mysterious question. We also asked a few questions that were basic and common at our checkout of the staff there and got some....vacant stares in return. I don't know if it was just a lack of knowledge, or the whole "mellow vibe" of SLO, but no one seemed very interested in finding an answer. The pluses outweighed the minuses - will give it a second try.…
We stayed at Hotel SLO for a few nights before our SLO wedding and the accommodations and team were fantastic. Paige, my contact at the front desk was particularly helpful and helped provide us the relaxation and ease we needed before one of the biggest events of our lives.
My husband and I stayed there in August, 2022 and were not happy campers. It was a special occasion so we splurged for a suite on the basis of the one photo of such rooms that was on the website. Well the room was quite inferior to that room, in terms of patio space, windows/views, and furnishings. We asked for a change to the room we had thought we were getting and got dismissive “service.” Both full days that we were there our room did not get attended to replace the coffee and towels, so we had to go to the desk and ask for what we needed. The staff at the desk were very nice and comped us drinks at the nice rooftop bar and a bottle of wine. They explained that they were short staffed. That is understandable but the hotel should simply put a note in the room saying that they will to be able to clean the room but please see the front desk to replace coffee, towels, etc. The best thing about the room was the super quiet and effective AC/heating. Never had one so quiet. Two other gripes were closet doors that were very difficult to open (without breaking fingernails) and bathrooms with almost no racks or hooks for towels (despite a placard telling guests to hang up towels that they did not need replaced). I wanted to leave a note that said “hang them where? The staff were very friendly and the valet service worked very well, which was good as there was no other good alternative for parking. A nice hotel in a very nice location that was definitely not worth what we paid.…
This was the last day of our trip looking at colleges andcwe stopped for 1 night, did themselves tour at Cal Poly. We arrived at noon and since we couldn't check in til 4pm, saw the school and walked around downtown. We were exhausted by the time we arrive at the hotel about 415 and found out room wasn't ready yet. We were so tired and Paige offered to go upstairs and see if any rooms were ready and just not marked as ready. Luckily one was and we went upstairs. Paige put a 50 dol food credit on our account, which was totally unnecessary. They were full yesterday and had a lot if rooms to clean. I understood that. The room was wonderful and so was the gym. Loved the shower and the shutters for the balcony. They didn't have those nasty curtains. Checking out was a breeze. I didn't get her name, but the gal at the desk made our coffee and checked us out. She was so nice. I gave 4 out of 5 due to our experience with the valet. He couldn't work the car, which was fine because none of the valets so far could do that. But I was fully prepared to tip because he was nice and they charged the car for us. He took my daughter to get her car, then got out and walked in the hotel. Our previous hotel the valet opened the doors and put our luggage in for us. It would just have been nice. But since he got out andcwalked into the hotel, he missed a tip.…
Hotel SLO has it all: sleekly designed rooms complete with nespresso machine, modern furnishings, spacious living space. The hallways to the rooms are even wide making this place just feel luxurious and wide open with beautiful windows everywhere. We had a suite with a balcony and it felt private. No noise. It was fun to enjoy a glass of wine in our back patio complete with an oversized chair/lounge seat. Spent a little bit of time at the pool which was complete with high end pool loungers and was not crowded. Inside, the robes are super comfortable. The linens and beds were top notch. We were welcomed with smiles and genuine hospitality. The bathroom shower and products were soo nice too. We had the best French toast ever at the hotel restaurant one morning. The location is central to everything in SLO. The town itself has so much to offer. We did a bike winery tour through central coastal outdoors and would recommend booking something like that again. Walked to bionic tavola for excellent Italian food the first night, and to Nuvo restaurant the second night. In summary we would stay at hotel SLO again in a heartbeat if we get the chance to return. Highly recommend!…
This is a beautiful hotel, walking distance and convenient to everything! The atmosphere is boutique and hip. We found the staff friendly and helpful, but completely overwhelmed. An example - my family left a couple clothing items in our closet in our room and realized after checkout. I called that evening and for two subsequent days and it took 3 days to get any attention for my lost items. Just understaffed and inexperienced team. Never 'found' my clothes - disappointing.
Fabulous modern hotel lots of amenities really friendly accommodating staff so helpful cheerful and kind. Paige on reception is terrific very professional and resolves any problems that may arise. Pool is heated great for a good swim The rooms are large very modern extremely clean with lovely wooden floors. The beds are luxuriously comfortable. Dining terrace is fab with music most nights. Would definitely stay there again if ever we visit San Luis Obispo.
My friends and I spent the weekend at the SLO Hotel and it was wonderful. The rooms are all freshly decorated in a very modern motif. All of the amenities were first class - even a Netspresso machine. We had a lovely dinner on the patio, under the stars - with great music. We had a slight kerfuffle with a need to accommodate an extra friend who came with us at the last minute. The Hotel Manager - Reed Wolfington stepped into the breech and solved our problem brilliantly! Thank-you Reed! Highly recommend!
