Old converted motor lodge, with a funky vibe. The rooms are being refurbished but ours was cool, and modern and stylish and we loved it. What the rooms lacks is bedside lights, meaning you can't switch off the overhead light with out getting out of bed. How ever we pointed this out and the remarkable Kelsey who oversees the operation...

We stayed here for one night on our way home from a trip up north for the holidays and were more than satisfied. We had been driving all day from portland and simply needed a clean, quiet place to rest for the night. The Greens Hotel looked fun and within our budget so we called from the road and everything...

John greeted me as I came through the sliding security gate into the parking lot. He offered me a chair and bottled water while he got the registration complete. Love my sweet little room. Painted green with a very comforting dog on an upholstered chair painting on the wall. I felt like I was in my own bedroom. Bathroom products...

An Ace-ish like refurbished motel in the gentrifying Old Sacramento neighborhood provides a clean, minimalistic, stylish stay. PROS: + Decor: rooms have been done in a modern/minimalist motif with bold colors...rooms are designated via letters vs numbers (ask for room XXX). + Snacks: office suite includes free cookies, nuts, bananas, apples, Keurig coffee, tea, water (there's also an in-room Keurig...

Wonderfully unique hotel! Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are just right with bright colors and fun décor. The beds and linens are comfy and the rooms are super clean. Nice showers and amenities. The grounds are really fun, too. Jon, the owner, is really nice and accommodating. The neighborhood is up and coming, but the hotel is on a...

The title of my review says it all. This place is just right......... There is no corner of this charming place that has not been carefully thought through to provide a simple, yet warming visit. I truly encourage anyone to stay here. I promise you will not be disappointed. John, you are a wonderful, gracious host.

My husband and I came up to Sacramento for his company Xmas party and we stayed here. Yes the room we got was a little tight but for a night or two this is a great hotel with a fun contemporary style! Everything is clean, updated and well kept and there a lots of simple complimentary items like water, juice,...

My daughter and I stayed one night at the Greens Hotel. It was very clean, beautiful and comfortable. Extra perks we enjoyed were the snacks offered upon check-in, the great smelling shampoo and condition in the shower, and the lovely garden sitting areas behind a gated fence. The neighborhood is a gentrified part of the city; we felt safe enough....

Booked at the last minute on a recent business trip to Sacramento. So happy to find this place. Super clean and perfect for the price and in a very cool neighborhood. Feels more like having a short term apartment rather than a motel experience. John the owner was great and has done an outstanding job of making this property homey...

I was attending a conference at the dou***tree in Sacramento and after reading the reviews of that hotel I decided to look elsewhere and found the Greens. The neighborhood, as someone else pointed out, is not the best place but once inside the gates of the hotel, the scene is quite different. I think the area is/was an artist destination...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Greens Hotel has re-opened on November 7, 2014! We have worked very hard to make sure that our accommodation's, landscape, and public areas are comfortable, clean, and welcoming. We have added a Keurig to every room, the nicest bathroom amenity available to us,luxurious mattress pads, and comfortable bedding to make your stay memorable. The Greens Hotel is the centerpiece of an authentic little Sacramento neighborhood where mid-century suburbia shares the sidewalks with the best of today's design, art, fashion and dining. Twenty-six rooms named A through Z and one suite, frame a casual commons, best for a breezy summer nights gathering around the pool or in one of our private and intimate courtyards, ... more   less
