A charming and eclectic hotel beautifully restored just blocks from the Capitol and most spots in Downtown Sacramento. Standard rooms are cozy (given the age of the building- former insurance HQ) and well appointed with plush towels and high quality bedding. Details are noticeable from lamps to wall coverings and pictures. Political art and pictures are found throughout paying homage...

My wife and I love Marriott's Autograph Collection. This hotel is amazing from the atmosphere to the service. Would definitely recommend The Citizen if you're staying in Sacramento. It has great history and love the details to the building.

I booked a suite for my 27th birthday on a whim after hearing great things about the citizen. I wanted a room with a balcony since I knew a few friends would be joining me. The hotel and lobby are beautiful and check in went smoothly. The room was absolutely gorgeous (a bit small but very well furnished). What made...

We enjoyed our stay, the room was very nice, staff great, but the downside is dirty windows, loud noises-they give you ear plugs, and the worst water pressure in the sink I have ever seen at a hotel. Barely enough water comes out to brush your teeth. Not sure if that's their idea of conservation or there is a problem?...

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel staff. We called to add a night to our reservation. Upon learning that we were traveling with kids, they moved us to a high floor, requested early check-in and late check-out with needing to be asked. At check-in, the staff upgraded us to a one bedroom suite, so we could have...

Older but beautifully remodeled hotel right next to the State Capitol. Decor is an interesting mixture of stately decor and interesting political art. Rooms are not large but are clean and comfortable. Lobby is very small but cozy.

This is 3rd time we booked at the citizen and we couldn't be happier. The decor is very unique and rooms are big and comfortable. This is a very accommodating hotel, from the great staff, very kids restaurant on the 1st floor, spacious workout room and more. We won't even consider another hotel in Sacramento going forward. Thank you Citizen...

I did not get...

This is probably the best hotel in Sacramento. It is close to the Capitol and downtown offices. The have a stylish lobby with a great restaurant and bar and the rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The staff has always been helpful and attentive and they are a great place to stay in business with great beds and plenty of...

Beautiful Hotel, the heart of downtown Sacramento. I requested a top floor room and when I arrive I was told all rooms we were pre-assign and no top floor rooms were available or upgrades, not the answer I want here, I understand the situation but if you have pre-block rooms why not unblock a room and assign it since I...
