If you can appreciate fresh walnuts, lovely hills, and country scenery, the Rumsey property is excellent. My daughter wanted more than just a fancy restaurant to celebrate with the immediate family after her civil ceremony, and since it had been an idea of hers to go away to a bed and breakfast for her short honeymoon, the idea of a... We booked this with another couple and had the two upstair bedrooms, the Sun and the Moon rooms. Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Juggernaut the cat is quite the character that you may see in the morning. And first thing in the morning the ducks get let out to take a bath and make their day begin. Very rustic... More

Our family of 3 stayed at Rumsey House and loved it. We had the Sun Room upstairs and our teenage daughter slept in the "Rumsey Fort" bed with a ladder and a private nook. Loved the sun in the morning. It makes you feel like you just want to jump out of bed to seize the day. Camilla had a... More

My boyfriend and I had a lovely overnight night stay at the Rumsey House. Camilla was so friendly and welcoming. We made outselves at home on the wrap around while while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The house was very clean and open and filled with books. Very interesting house with nooks and lofts. All around great experience. Thank you,... More

So glad we stayed here. We had plans in the area and decided to book a nite here. Lovely Experience. I wish we would of stayed longer. The drive is beautiful. Green everywhere. We arrived and the owner Camilla is very warm and inviting. Her stove wasn't working and she apologized for not having cookies on the kitchen counter. Offered... More

If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful setting this is the place. This was only our 2nd visit to the Capay Valley and first stay. Camilla the owner is very nice and makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. We stayed in the Moon Room and it was quite large with it's own bathroom. The... More

We stopped overnight on our way from Sacramento (after flying all day from East Coast) to Mendocino. What a find! Wonderful rural property in the remote Capay Valley. The owner, Camilla , is an interesting and dynamic personality - versed in science and art with a wonderful gift for conversation and making guests feel at home. The rooms were superb... More

I stayed here with my (now) husband and our families while in the area for our wedding at Full Belly Farm 10 minutes down the road. Camilla was amazingly easy going and helpful during our stay. She made a great pioneer pie, cheesy eggs, and fresh wild fruit for our breakfast, and she even allowed us to use the fridge... More

In late February, we visited gorgeous Capay Valley for the annual Almond Blossom Festival. We were delighted by the old time food and festivities, but more importantly, the genuinely nice people we met from the area. By far, our most pleasant memories of this trip were from our two night stay at the Rumsey House. The owner, Camilla, graciously welcomed... More

We were in the area for a birthday party and our friend recommended Rumsey House. We stayed in the Moon Room and thought it was clean, comfortable and cozy. The bed was great. We were not in the room very much but my husband pointed out the skylights and the stars that could be seen through the windows from the... More
