Got a good rate with senior discount here. The unit is several blocks from Hwy. 101 and is therefore nice and quiet. Manager is friendly and helpful, there were issues with the cable TV needing to be reset.. Unit are well maintained and clean.

This was the cheapest place in town for the time we were there. We spent 7 nights there. I rated this a 3 because it does need some maintenance and some deep cleaning. The staff was friendly and took care of any needs we had. We go to this area every year on business, I don't think we will go...

This hotel is a great choice if you are in the Rio Dell or Fortuna area. The place is well maintained and everyone working there is very friendly. There isn't a breakfast but Dave will be happy to tell you where to get food. I was surprised that there wasnt an AC unit in the room but it was pretty...

This was a nice little hotel for a reasonable price. Very clean rooms with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker (with organic coffee). We arrived late in the evening, but the owner still took the time to go over a local map with us!

As others have noted there's not much in Rio Dell - EXCEPT this hotel. This was the best hotel of our 2 week road trip. The management was excellent, the beds good, the free WiFi was fast and easy and the reception always warm when we requested assistance (like more coffee, etc.). We were given tips on places to eat,...

Rio Dell, a tiny town. The Gables Motel, a small motel. What's the draw? DAVE THOMPSON. The manager, a lovely, gentle giant of a man, who polices his units fiercely and lovingly. We were amazed at the cleanliness, charmed by the information Dave imparted. No a/c, but usually, this isn't a problem. We had a great shower, slept between clean...

Other than the guy at the office not talking, it was a great place to stay. Nice thick comfortable bed, really clean inside and out. Really nice, thick, and smooth towels too. Comfy and cozy. I would go here again.

This is a true older property gem. I prefer older properties...but the owner here goes out of his way for the little extras to make you feel at home. They invested in high quality towels and give you plenty of all types in the room. They place 2 chocolate kisses on the bed each day. The rooms are clean and...

After a problem with our reservation in Garberville, we frantically started calling hotels for a room and were very fortunate to find one at Humboldt Gables Motel. This is a super clean and comfortable motel. We had a large room with 2 double beds and one queen which was perfect for our family. We all slept well and the shower...

After cancelling my room in Crescent City, I found my self without accomodations for the night. I recall passing by this quaint motel on my way North. I quickly phoned them and was able to book a room. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly man you promptly checked us into our room. He was able to...
