First, I must say that the manager (owner?) is a very kind gentleman. We arrived after hours and he was pleasant checking us in despite the fact we likely woke him up. He was also kind enough to call me to let me know that he had trouble with the credit machine and asked if I was double charged. I... More

We only spent one night here on our way through. The rooms were very nice and roomy. High ceilings, so plenty of light. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The problems: a lot of mildew on the shower walls. Grossed us out. Also, when we walked in to our room for the 1st time, we... More

Stuck waiting to close our escrow, we ended up here in Pollock Pines and we have 4 dogs, I was horrified at the thought of trying to find anyplace on earth where I could live for several weeks. And a truck and car too boot. These kind people never once bothered us in any way. Our dogs are small, and quiet... More

For a lodging in its class and its location, the Westhaven is doing many things right. This Pollock Pines inn has compensated for its location between busy Pony Express Trail Road and the I-50 Highway by installing double-paned windows that do a good job of blocking out the sound. I asked for the quietest room possible, totally non-smoking with a... More

We stopped here totally by accident, and were pleasantly surprised. The room was in the main building with the check-in, the staff was very helpful, and the rooms are very large. It was by far the cleanest room we had on our entire trip. Nothing fancy, but the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner was quiet and efficient and there... More

We made a last minute reservation. This room was awful, ants crawling over the tables, roaches in the bathtub, & the room needed a thorough deep cleaning. We pointed all this out to the owner/manager who wouldn't discount the room, picked up the roach & said "that's not a roach". I'm not a roach expert, but it looked like one to... More

We were in the area for a hotel and was attracted to the motel because it was close to a cabin our friends were renting while still being cheap. Checked in around 4. Office is an odd setup where behind a door behind the desk is a room that looked similar to a living room with an old woman. Quickly... More

My husband and I were visiting YNP in September and we were stranded on the western side of the mountains b/c of a snow storm that would not allow us to pass over to the east side (where our hotel was booked for that evening). We traveled very far north before we figured out there was no way we were... More

We stayed in this hotel on our way home from a Jeep trip on the Rubicon Trail. Very nice sized room with 2 queen beds, small dining table and chairs, and a desk. We had a second floor room with a small balcony, very nice in the morning to sit out there and sip coffee. Spacious bathroom, with a separate... More

We had Room 212 which was a king upstairs above the owners living space. The bed was very firm. The bathroom did not have any towel hangers. There was a microwave and refrigerator. The TV was a flat panel. There was noise from traffic on the main road. The water taste was unpleasant. The room was spacious and clean. The... More
