The Sandcastle feels like an older hotel... the room was dated but clean and the tv was decent. Bed was comfortable. Food at The Deck was very good. The view from the beach is spectacular. Pismo is where I picked to stop based on its location down the coast. I felt cheated by the hotel because of a $20 service fee. They said it was for WIFI and for the activities, thing is I never agreed to buy anything extra. It is more about the shifty way they did it than the money. Ethics are questionable with this practice. It is located close to some surf shops and restaurants. …
Wonderful staying right on the beach and just walking out to lay in the sun anytime you want to. They gave us a bottle of wine and had it waiting for us in our room in an ice. The room also came with a couples massage that was unbelievable.
We have stayed at the Sandcastle twice and loved both stays! The balconies overlook the beach and have a commanding view of the pier. It is very romantic at night! Our favorite breakfast in Pismo is at the Sandcastle bistro in the lobby. The salmon bagel is TO DIE FOR! The hotel is clean and conveniently located within walking distance of many restaurants! The staff is friendly and helpful.…
This is the only hotel on the beach my family and I would stay every year for our family mini vacation. It is so relaxing and no fuss. Service Is the best food is so convenient you don’t have to get out of the hotel to get food. But if the food is not to your liking there are other restaurants close by. Will be returning again and again…
I have mixed feelings about this place. I clearly get what they are trying to do and in the main they achieve it, although I think the finish/execution is a little off the mark in a number of places e.g. with the refurbishment, finish quality in the showers, not great, mattresses on the beds had seen better days. However, this place has a lot of redeeming features. Staff are friendly, and in the case of one young man, who appeared to cover everything from reception to bike repairs, he should be commended for the service he provides. The location is great, the amenities it offers, esp. for children is great. The Deck is particularly pleasant place to while away the day/evening, with a range of reasonably priced food/drink to choose from. The proximity to the centre and a wide range and variety of food/drink places is great. Really worth considering for a stay.…
