The was a bit dated, but it was all nice and clean. The hotel is right at the beach and it easy to walk to Pismo center. The breakfast included is lackluster, but with a service minded staff and a nice view over the ocean. The got parking close to all rooms and stairs rough down to the beach.…
I love the charm of this old school beach hotel. The staff are so nice and friendly. Clean room, pool, and hot tub and just a few minutes to walk to town and right across from the beach. Dog friendly and amazing views if you pick the right room. I love this place!
I haven't traveled to Pismo Beach before so wanted to add this destination to my list of beach adventures. Edgewater had a good rate and seemed to be in good proximity to the sand. It's definitely a family hotel - lots of families and kids so if you don't have kids, you might be out of place here. I came here over July 4th weekend - maybe my first mistake as the town was swollen with people beyond capacity. My room was fine - looks to be relatively new laminate flooring installed. It was clean and had a working AC. Basic amenities - 2 chairs, chest of drawers, mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom was clean which is my major pet peeve. The AC worked fine and the TV had a good selection of cable channels. The floors were dirty - but I have similar floors at home and I can tell you it is impossible to keep clean with dirt and sand traffic in and out of the rooms. Because its an affordable, budget hotel it was packed. Lots of noisy, running kids generations of families shoved into rooms. I guess that's to be expected on a holiday weekend. The most annoying part was people leaving their doors open and blasting music - I don't think I've ever experienced that at a hotel where it would have been accepted lol. The pool was okay - again, overrun by kids, but served its purpose. I think a few locals were sneaking in because people were leaving the door cracked so anyone could walk in. The hotel is located in a busy traffic area - even walking my dog at 6:30am found me dodging cars trying to find a parking spot. If you have a dog, Edgewater is dog-friendly, but there is very little grassy area other than a small patch by the pool. There is a park about a 1/2 mile down the road where I walked my dog. You will be constantly dodging cars so beware. Breakfast is not breakfast - it's more like a snack - bad coffee, some muffins and bread. That's it. Walk to the Cinnamon Roll place down the block - a better choice. Parking was challenging for sure. I almost felt like I couldn't leave or I would never get a spot because it was so crowded. The hotel was also selling parking spots on the other side of the property for the weekend. Btw, management - here is an idea - open up the 4th floor viewing room for fireworks - charge $20 - that to me would be the perfect spot to watch fireworks. When you do that next year, be sure to thank me. The beach is located down a flight of 40+ stairs - just remember that as you're lugging your crap back up the stairs. Nice beach - water is just too cold in CA in July. The staff was very friendly and nice - everyone from the woman who runs the coffee snacks, front desk, and housekeeping. I give them a big thumbs up for that. They did try to remove the trash quickly which was good because there was lots of trash everywhere after the 4th. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I like a bargain like everyone else, but will probably choose another hotel. There is a demographic for this hotel and it definitely is not for me.…
We loved our stop here on our roadtrip! The motel is right beside the beach and we had a fab view of it from our room. It's a few minutes walk from the centre and pier which was great. It had a lovely heated pool & hot tub which we used a lot and it was a nice space to relax in. Room itself was a good size and clean. Breakfast wasnt great & to be honest wouldn't bother with it if I was to stay here again. Would definitely recommend!…
I can't find anything good to say about this hotel. Ocean view room was not worth the cost. walked outside the door and person next door was outside smoking. Came back from our day at Avila Beach and the only thing housekeeping had done was change the bathmat and make the bed. Towels not replaced. Coffee service and water cups not replaced. (Cups were still sitting on the dresser with morning coffee in them.) I wish I had researched this hotel more carefully.…
