We frequently drive from Santa Monica to Yountville in the Napa Valley. Our favorite half-way rest stop is Hotel Cheval. Even on a wet and cool February day, the hotel is always warm and welcoming. The rooms are smartly appointed, the beds very comfortable, the breakfast exactly what you would expect from a first class property. The highlight for those...

Dear Yarmouthmass, Thank you for the wonderful review and your continued patronage. We have certainly had our fair share of wet February evenings this month, but the roaring fires help take the chill off. I am pleased you enjoyed the s'mores. We now have a candy store in our library, so that guests with that sweet tooth may take candy...

Lovely boutique hotel and wine bar à la Française. Rooms are quite comfortable surrounding a cozy courtyard with wood burning outdoor fireplaces -- perfect for snuggling up after dinner. Wine bar has indoor and outdoor seating and local coffee house type entertainment. All of this within an easy walking distance to vibrant downtown area replete with many restaurant choices. Just...

We visited Hotel Cheval as a splurge for my birthday, and it did not disappoint. We received personalized service at check-in, and the room itself was beautifully appointed. The breakfast buffet offered a nice variety of choices, such as smoked salmon and frittata in addition to the fresh fruit and baked goods. The s'mores prepared at the outdoor fireplace before...

We visited Hotel Cheval during the December holiday season, and it was an unforgettably wonderful experience. Our room was modest in size, but perfectly appointed and most comfortable. We loved relaxing in the library and the courtyard with our friends, and the service was excellent. We look forward to another stay at Hotel Cheval, and more wonderful wine tasting in...

This was our first stay at Hotel Cheval, and it will be our "go to" place in Paso Robles from now on. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and immaculate! My partner and I recently spent two nights at Hotel Cheval. We were meant to stay for one night, but the hotel was so lovely, we added an extra night. It was gorgeous. We loved the rooms, the library, the bar and the courtyard, particularly with the open fires. It could not have been more elegant. The staff were wonderful.
