Disgusting hair in my bed. I contacted the front desk when I saw it at 11:45 pm they said we can change your room which it was too late to do. I was told I could speak to management in the am I went to ask for a manager and they said she’s not in she will contact you. Two days I kept calling until I was able to speak to her. (She never reached out). Very rude unaccommodating. Side note my shower water wouldn’t get warm either.
Booked this hotel last minute for July 4th weekend. This hotel was the cheapest option for a last minute booking, and did not disappoint. Parking: lots of parking, no issues at any time. Multiple entrances, so it’s still easy to get in when you park in the back. Check-In: Easy and quick, even for a late night check In. Room: Clean, matched the photos. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathrobes we’re provided, along with enough towels for two people for two days. Room was huge! Breakfast: Included every morning. Wait staff for breakfast was AMAZING- so on top of it. Friendly and helpful. Breakfast hours ended at 10am, loved that it was later than some other places. Would definitely stay here again, far exceeded expectations!
This hotel is merely average. Not bad, but nothing recommends it over others in the area. The good: spacious rooms, covered parking (with solar panels), it was clean and the breakfast had protein, fiber and fruit choices. The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. There was a night light type ceiling light in the bathroom for safety. The mattress was comfortable. The less good: TV wasn’t working when we turned it on. The front desk said it was a hotel- wide connectivity issue and it should be working within the hour, which it was. But by then the news program we wanted to watch was over. I had trouble getting more than merely warm water for my shower. I got it hot once, then the temperature promptly reduced. Too many people taking showers? The area where the hotel is situated wasn’t great. Homeless people were walking through the parking lot, talking to themselves, when I took my suitcase out to the car. The room had one of those below - the-window a/c units that pump out only freezing air onto your bed, even if the temp is set to 68 degrees. The pillows were small weird square ones filled with torn-up foam, 6” high. I don’t know how anyone is supposed to sleep on those comfortably. We won’t be back.…
No Kleenex, no magnifying mirror, no nightlight but the A/C compressor did kick on with hurricane force regularly throughout the night as did some loud mechanical noise. Breakfast was adequate—guarded extremely closely-unimpressed!
From check in this hotel is style. Publc rooms are plain. Rooms are well appointed. Large and spacious with gigantic double bed, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Bathroom is of a good size and the air conditiondr is self controlle. All in all faultless. Breakfast is more than ample with helpful staff. There is a swimming pool and work out room.
I went to Visit a friend in the oaks hotel and one man approached me his name is Mostafa. He offered me some dates and the delicious Arabic coffee . He is friendly and he is welcoming the guests politely.
We checked in and dealt with an amazing employee by the name of Nancy. She was new but sadly treated very poorly by her apparent supervisor. She is a great asset to the hotel and her respectful/professional treatment to us was spectacular. We are very appreciative of her kindnesses
This was a comfortable hotel for a stopover, it's not really close to any good services/attractions so that's the only negative. A crib was available as well as being pet friendly. Service was friendly and attentive.
I have reviewed this hotel a few years ago and that time it was great. I stayed there again recently and things went from great to just okay. The room looked a bit more worn down than before. Wifi did not work very well. The water pressure was too high, making it painful to shower. The toilet was not attached well to the floor and wobbled. Other than that the room was clean and pretty comfortable. The included breakfast was pretty decent. Unfortunately the breakfast room was pretty crowded and felt quite unsafe in terms of COVID. Next time we are in Paso Robles we will try another hotel.
We chose The Oaks due to its location, that it is an upscale Choice Hotel, and because it offers EV chargers for overnight guests. The hotel is clean (very important in times of Covid), the room was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, there was no Wifi in our room and the sockets on my side of the bed were not working. The hotel management kindly extended a credit towards our room bill. According to one employee, the hotel knows it has a Wifi problem but has done little to fix it. In 2022, good Wifi is a must-have--thus, only 3 stars.
