Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was a little nervous about our visit having read the slightly mixed reviews, but pleased to say that it was very good. Note that we did not stay in Jasmine Court, which is rather remote from the rest of the complex. Had a first floor apartment, which was clean, no flies or other wildlife in the apartment (we didn't see a single mosquito in the 10 days we were there!), good shower over bath and toiletries provided. With Marriott you know what you're going to get - it's all a bit beige and unexciting, but clean, comfortable and functional. Beautiful landscaping, immaculately kept and very quiet in November. Nice balcony with plenty of room for 4 people. JW Marriott hotel is 5-20 mins walk depending on your villa - shuttle bus every half hour and the timetable isn't as complicated as suggested by others! Rockwood Grill in the hotel is good and Aquifer 65 worth a visit. Others I wouldn't bother with. Pools are ok - several small ones and one larger one with bar, which was fine, but not great. Location wise, there's a large Ralph's supermarket in the next block (5 mins by car or a 20 minute walk) and a couple of "fine dining" restaurants almost next to it - we preferred the Cork Tree to Morton's. El Paseo (the main Desert Springs street) is a 5 minute drive and Palm Springs is a very easy 20 minute drive. El Paseo is great, with a wide variety of restaurants and great shops - all well presented with music playing and a free shuttle service along the street. But Palm Springs is where most of the action is and well worth a visit or two - great restaurants. Things to do - Palm Springs Art Museum (you don't need long there!), PS Air Museum (not huge but good for 2-3 hrs), Sunnylands (book the house tour, nice cafe), Mount Jacinta (Aerial Tram and nice restaurant at the top - in the snow). All worth a visit. But that's about it unless you travel further afield - Joshua Tree Reservation probably worth the journey.

The Villas II at Marriot Desert Springs is a great place to stay. The golf course there is one of a kind, probably the most beautifull course I have ever played so if you are a golfer you need to play it. Villas has great pool gardens and we spent a lot of time there. If you are going to Palm Springs I recommend The Villas II at Marriot Desert Springs.

This was our fourth or fifth visit here. We love this resort. Spacious newly remodeled apartments with loads of space for our family of five adults. Large private balconies with outdoor furniture include a lounger. Great in room laundry which had plenty of use. Lovely large shower and bath, comfortable beds. Plenty of towels supplied. Pool complex large and very pleasant. We had it to ourselves most nights. Did a few complimentary exercise classes and a free wine tasting evening. Lovely grounds, well kept. Did notice from a few years ago, no complimentary slippers or welcome goodie bag anymore however we will be back.

Had a fantastic time and couldn't fault anyone or anything. Room with a relaxing view over the golf course, and it was a lovely large room, spotless too. Gardens are beautifully maintained and all the staff were excellent.

Pros: Property was clean, even though at the end of my stay I found a small scorpion like bug in my bathtub. Beds are super comfy, love the floor lighting. Lots of little amenities included in the room such as dish soap, paper towels, extra trash bags, etc. Parking at each building is plentiful! There are water refill stations at the pool, but keep in mind they close at 10pm. You can also refill your water bottle at the gym. Cons: The reason I docked my points is because both ice machines in pools 3 & 6 (cassia & mesquite) were OUT of service. It was 97F degrees all weekend and I had no ice for my drinks or for my post-op knee. I even brought an ice pack to fill up. You can't just call the front desk to bring ice to your room either. Who runs out of ice in the heat? Also the bus schedule is confusing - the front desk didn't even know how to explain it to me after 3x of asking.

We just stayed here for 7 nights and I can't say enough good things about it. I was a bit skeptical about it after reading some reviews but the Villas 2 were amazing. We tried all the pools out which were kept clean and well stocked with towels. Our room was clean and beautiful. Staff were amazing and everytime we needed supplies, the staff were fantastic to deal with and our supplies came very fast. We were sad to leave and wished we could have stayed longer.

The good: 2nd floor room view very nice; room layout good; grounds excellent; location great. The bad: for some reason, our 2nd floor room had the loudest, most annoying engine type noise nearly all of the time. It must have been the air conditioner units cycling on and off all night. We didn’t complain because it would’ve been a hassle to move. Probably a terrible design flaw in our unit but we can’t believe other people haven’t complained. Something Marriott needs to address. Avoid room 2296, building 746.

Guest services are great, second floor views were gorgeous, comfortable accommodations. Many pools including a quiet pool for relaxation. Would recommend trying to get a 2nd floor unit for the views. Kitchen is great if you do not eat out every meal, has most everything you want. Outdoor BBQ also available.

We stayed the first week of September with another couple sharing a two-bedroom villa. We selected the Jasmine Court option and we were very pleased how quite it was during our stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and only until the last night of our six night stay did we hear our neighbors. We did not use any of the amenities outside the room, but found the kitchen full stocked for meals when eating in. The only “down side” to some might be that it is a short drive to downtown Palm Springs, but overall we would return and recommend the villas to other travelers.

I really enjoyed staying at the Marriot Villas, the down side is the restaurant on property closes super early or maybe it was only open for lunch which I don’t recall it being open (The Waters Edge Bar and Grill) so one would have to drive next door to the JW or you can take a shuttle if everyone in your party plans on drinking. Although, In my opinion, I wouldn’t waste my time on overpriced food and drinks. You are better off in Downtown Palm Springs or restaurants 5 mins away. The amenities at the club house are typical; a gym, pool, lounge area. I have to mention there was a problem with the ac in the weight room, when I told the front desk the lady said it would take an hour for a technician to come. I was glad a housekeeper was smart enough to use a door stopper to keep the door open. Nonetheless, came when its was 111 so didn’t stay at the pool too long. Their isn’t much to do when its this hot in Palm Springs except maybe the casino or enjoy a dinner out later in the evening when it cools down!
