Nice hotel right on HWY 111. The beds were more comfy than most and the balcony room was large. They keep things clean in the common areas but could do a bit more cleaning in the rooms: mold in the bathroom and wallpaper is bubbled in many places. The staff was friendly while the pool was inviting and offered some shaded areas. Very good breakfast and love those Cinnamon Rolls.
Witnessed two 300+lb women swimming and drinking numerous beers for 4+ hours without getting out of the pool even once. No way they didn’t pee in the pool numerous times. Twice heard retching sounds and saw what may be vomit stream down as they finally exited long after pool hours ended. Make sure to ask when pool was cleaned after night of August 03.
Nice location relative to things to do locally. Clean basic rooms, superior service and staff. Felt safe and the rooms were clean. They provide a breakfast and fresh cinnamon rolls daily. A really good value.
What a beautiful room!! And a very nice facility and delightful staff. It is very clean, quiet, the bedding is high quality, It has everything we need. It is also very close to excellent restaurant choices. I would definitely stay her again.
We have been staying @ this hotel for years but was our first trip since covid. We've never had a problem before and was happy to get an early checkin. However, the room view as another reviewer mentioned was awful. Then the remote didn't work, the carpet made our feet dirty, lots of banging doors and my friend banged his shin on the bedframe and be4 checking out, I gashed my leg on it:( We had a room with 2 queen beds and I dont' see how more than 2 people could fit as small. Plus the AC blows right on the 2nd bed. The breakfast and pool were the highlights as neither too crowded for spring break.
I had to stay here unexpectedly after blowing out 2 tires on a wind-blown spike strip at a border patrol checkpoint. It was a lot nicer than the budget hotels I had been staying at. It was night time and I was glad to not be scared while getting my stuff from my car to the room. It cost twice as much as the budget hotels but I had a hard time finding a room at the last minute and the border patrol guys gave me a form to fill out to get reimbursed for the expense. I loved staying at a nicer place than the budget places, it felt luxurious.
We are here right now and I am disguested and disappointed with this hotel. We are in room 233 and when we got into the room, the first thing we noticed was that the carpet floor was soppy wet and then when we walked from the wet carpet onto the tile, it left dirty footprints because the carpet is so filthy. I will not let my children walk around without shoes. The tile is not even clean and is sticky when you walk across it. I'd hoped the balcony would make up for it but it is the worst view I have ever seen, looking into a run down utility area and what looks like an electrical substation over the fence, complete with rotting random boards that look like they've been laying there for years. After we got in the bed, the fridge started making this horrendous noise. Reservation for 3 people, but only 2 towels for the bath. They don't give you those little shampoo bottles, and instead have shampoo dispensers stuck to the shower wall, and of course ours is not only caked about with old shampoo that wasn't cleaned off, but after I cleaned it off, it was totally clogged, so I didn't even get to wash my hair good. Lots of things about the room look dated, like the door handles that have little tinges of rust, and the fire/sprinkler on the bathroom wall that is rusting through the thick layers of paint. There were many things that weren't clean to standard, with crumbs and hairs in the corners. I am sad we wasted a day here, and even though we have reservations for another day, I'm considering abandoning the 2nd day reservation to stay elsewhere. We have checked the coffee 3 times since getting here, and not once was the coffee in the lobby hot. I am not usually a complainer, and this is only about the 2nd hotel review I've ever left.…
In spite of this being a Holiday Inn Express, my impression is that this is not quite up to the usual standards of other properties. In fairness, the staff is friendly and they accommodated our slightly-early check-in which was nice. The room didn't really feel overly clean unfortunately and finding what appeared to be cake frosting smashed into the only chair in the room was disappointing. The bathroom sink area was INCREDIBLY tiny for two people but the shower/toilet/tub area was fine. (The water that ran off the tub, out the door and into the hallway was a little surprising though!) My biggest complaint was the breakfast. It was poorly stocked, what were described as omelettes were quite wet and not especially warm. The catering bins that held bacon were empty and full of oil and the coffee pot was totally empty. I asked the person working the area and he politely told me they were "restocking" things. 15 minutes later a very greasy and barely-cooked pile of sausage was brought out but it was fairly inedible. The area also does not have much seating and to ask folks to sit outside in desert in the summer is... well... dumb! There is a workout room but it is very small with only a single treadmill, an exercise bike and a few weights. Did not use it... The elevator is quite noisy, shakes at times and smells of musty dampness. Panels were missing from the interior so the feeling of safety really lacked... On a good note, the beds were fairly comfortable and being on the 3rd floor, it was reasonably quiet. Over-all I would give our experience a weak 3 only because the staff really seems to try. In all honesty, I likely wouldn't stay here again...…
Check in process and room were top notch. What was concerning was the silver F-150 sitting idling in the front parking lot with a most seedy-looking guy on his cellphone from at least 4:00-10:00 pm each day. This, or a similar truck was in the same spot when I stayed here back in April.
First off, this building did not seem to be usual for what you'd see in a Holiday Inn Express. I'm guessing this was some other hotel brand at another time and then converted to be a Holiday Inn Express. I think my favorite element about this hotel was the outdoor setting - I liked the palm trees and lush greenery. Otherwise, the hotel itself was very lackluster and non-memorable. The room was just OK - not impressive in the least bit. The hotel was very crowded during breakfast. It doesn't help that the lobby area is rather small, however, there is outdoor seating available as an alternative (which was actually quite nice!). On a return trip to the Palm Springs area, I'd probably spend a bit more to stay at a higher-caliber property.
