We just spent four nights at Asilomar (family with teens) and all enjoyed it. The proximity to the beach and 17-mile Drive make it a great location for a Monterey area get-away. I really liked the vibe and the other visitors we met at the...More
I attended a training workshop at Asilomar and found it perfect for an intense learning experience. The rooms were surprisingly spartan (I stayed in Oak Knoll) and didn't have a television set. I soon appreciated the lack of distractions in the room, as it kept...More
The Asilomar Conference Grounds are in an ideal location, but the facility itself is in desperate need of refurbishing. I've had 2 stays there; one in a historic room and the other in a "regular" room.

Quaint, quiet, and oh so peaceful! Just what I needed. I hadn't been to Asilomar Conference Grounds in years and opted to stay here while attending a conference in Monterey. I am so glad that I did. The smell of the pines and the ocean...More
I have coming here almost every year since 1991. This place just gets better and better. They take really good care of the ecological balance, keep improving the amenities and have a spot on the Pacific on the northern end date of the famous 17...More

Hello, I grew in in PG and have returned to stay at Asilomar number of times over the years. This is a conference site first but they really advertise to individuals now also. This new property group sells rooms as to location on the property, fireplace, ocean views are now extras. What is a "ocean view" to one may not be to another. They don't like to tell where your room will be because of conferences. I'd goggle a map of the property and you can see where the rooms/buildings are set. The 800 number people are in AZ. and really don't knew the site at all. I'd ask where my room is, most ocean views are in a nice areas. The rooms are dated but clean. They have plans to redo them this coming year. Asilomar Beach is right across the street, you can't get any closer. The grounds are very nice, it's a state park. I won't buy your meals there, to many great restaurant in PG and Monterey.....check TripAdvisor. Carmel is about 7 miles away and you can go into the 17 Mile Gate right up the hill from Asilomar. Merry Christmas
