I was here for several days for a conference which took place within the Asilomar conference grounds.
The entire property is special and unique, blending in with the natural reserve. You find yourself walking to your room together with deer and squirrels, just 2 minute...More
Have stayed here over the years only to see the decline of the property and worsening of the staff. I talked myself into trying Asilomar again. The desk staff didn't seem to care if you were there or not using a bare minimum approach to...More

Location to the beach, tide pools & long walks is good. My 2 night stay was very disappointing. I was placed in the bleak, back facing rooms of the Long View buildings. Bookings are made through a Park-Service reservation #, by someone who does not...More
Check-In was quick, efficient rather than friendly staff. Rooms were a bit old and really need updating, they were huge though felt more like a lodge. Grounds were big and very pretty, lovely walk down to the beach. No TV's or coffee making facilities in...More
My room was huge, the decor slightly outdated but didn't matter because it was clean and the bed/mattress and the linen were all clean and relatively new. Lots of clean, white towels and flannels, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion and a powerful hairdryer. There are...More

I am unaware of which if any of the Asilomar villages have recently undergone renovations to rooms and or bathrooms. As another person responded would suggest you try and reach the actual Asilomar front desk lobby folks to field that question. The central reservation phone number connects to out of state reservation folks who are really not up to date on the property details. The last two years I have stayed in the complex with names of Afterglow, Hearth and Embers and they are all identical in layout and condition as far as I can tell. To be the condition of the rooms that I stayed in for Embers and Afterglow were in very good condition over all, with wear condition seeming to be less than 5 years of age since some refurbishment was done. Extremely clean bathrooms and shower/tub area. Only wear condition was sliding balcony door this recent visit. It had quite a bit of rust buildup in lower and Sid frame tracks requiring lots of energy force to open and close it. That was the extent of my cons on the room. These rooms for this set of buildings has the added benefit of a truly great underground garage for parking with plenty of big parking spaces and it adjoins at each corner of the garage the buildings of Embers, Afterglow and Hearth.

Hello, I grew in in PG and have returned to stay at Asilomar number of times over the years. This is a conference site first but they really advertise to individuals now also. This new property group sells rooms as to location on the property, fireplace, ocean views are now extras. What is a "ocean view" to one may not be to another. They don't like to tell where your room will be because of conferences. I'd goggle a map of the property and you can see where the rooms/buildings are set. The 800 number people are in AZ. and really don't knew the site at all. I'd ask where my room is, most ocean views are in a nice areas. The rooms are dated but clean. They have plans to redo them this coming year. Asilomar Beach is right across the street, you can't get any closer. The grounds are very nice, it's a state park. I won't buy your meals there, to many great restaurant in PG and Monterey.....check TripAdvisor. Carmel is about 7 miles away and you can go into the 17 Mile Gate right up the hill from Asilomar. Merry Christmas
