I was impressed when we drove up and checked in, but then we got to the room. Besides 2 beds (with headboards screwed into the walls and one of the only outlets in the room located behind the bed, and mattresses that needed to be...More
Seriously the worst hotel room I have seen in at least 20 years... The main building was beautiful and I'm thinking that the reviews I read may be wrong, then we drive to the room and BAM: wallpaper peeling, unidentifiable smell, worn carpet, horrible beds,...More
It is a lot for a room with bare essentials but the location is wonderful. They have bon fires and smores at night. No AC but not required. Rooms do not allow food. Entry lodge is great for games and a fire. Pool is heated...More
Poorly maintained, paper thin walls, disgustingly outdated. Family members booked this room for us and were equally disappointed with this place. Yes, the location is great. If you're looking to camp without being in a tent, then this might be for you. I realize the...More

Hello, I grew in in PG and have returned to stay at Asilomar number of times over the years. This is a conference site first but they really advertise to individuals now also. This new property group sells rooms as to location on the property, fireplace, ocean views are now extras. What is a "ocean view" to one may not be to another. They don't like to tell where your room will be because of conferences. I'd goggle a map of the property and you can see where the rooms/buildings are set. The 800 number people are in AZ. and really don't knew the site at all. I'd ask where my room is, most ocean views are in a nice areas. The rooms are dated but clean. They have plans to redo them this coming year. Asilomar Beach is right across the street, you can't get any closer. The grounds are very nice, it's a state park. I won't buy your meals there, to many great restaurant in PG and Monterey.....check TripAdvisor. Carmel is about 7 miles away and you can go into the 17 Mile Gate right up the hill from Asilomar. Merry Christmas
