We booked Poole's Guest House for our Honeymoon. The location was fantastic for sight seeing and conveniently located to fantastic restaurants. Ann was an exceptional hostess and let us know about the best food choices and all the must see-do things in the Lake Tahoe region. Ann and Herman were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

I stayed at Pooles for 4 days and loved the experience Ann and Herman were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble They were friendly, accomodating, and knowledgeable about the area. The house is beautifully clean warm and has great views. There is plenty of parking if you have a car. It is walking distance (15 mins) from Squaw...

We booked Poole's Guesthouse based upon location, reviews and price point. This was our first time staying in a guesthouse where we shared a bathroom and other common areas. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and smiles from Ann and her husband Herman. This charming home is centered around a beautiful spiral staircase with amazing mountain views....

Poole's Guesthouse was a great place to stay for our snowboarding trip, and it's just minutes from the ski lifts at The Village at Squaw Valley. The home is situated above the main road and affords beautiful mountain views, and the owners, Ann and Herman, were especially warm and welcoming. Our first night, we had dinner with them at a...

This is the first review I have written, ever. I couldn't get over the way I was treated by the owner. That being said, I didn't get a chance to visit, but the customer service is really lacking. Ann was very rude and treated me as if she could not care less about me as a customer. When I asked...

Karissa, I am sorry that you did not choose to stay with us. Your email said, " I'm unable to do a 3 night stay, I work full time and am a recent college graduate as is my boyfriend. Luckily my birthday falls on a 3 day weekend but I can't drive up to Tahoe at night after work on...

This is a house where the owners live there and rent out 3 rooms. My friend and I had the Hideaway downstairs bedroom (next to the owner's bedroom). The home is clean, compact and comfortable. Quarters are snug as the owners have 2 computer workstations in the living area. We were welcomed to use the kitchen, dishes and living area......BUT...

Thelma, maybe a shared lodging situation didn't work for you. Like any AirBnB-Style lodging, which is similar to what we offer, most guests are eager to be considerate of other guests needs. We have offered lodging since around 1993 and what we offer is a fun, affordable getaway where people arrive from all over the world and respect each others...

Even though this is listed as a "guesthouse," I think it's important to make a note that it could not be more literal: you really are a guest in Ann and Herman's house. The common spaces on the main floor also have their personal computers and desks where they do some work, and they sleep in a room in the...

I spent two nights with Ann and Herman at the beginning of May 2013. “I think that the king might be the only suite with its own basin. I peeked into the queen, but I didn't take good notes. Perhaps Ann can comment. If so, it is worth the few extra dollars for the king, but it isn't so important as to keep me from taking the queen if that is what was available.”
