This place has a lot of character but probably wouldn't suit everyone. It's old, but the rooms work well as suites, and the breakfast is basic but plentiful .The location is close to the airport, and they will make spa appointments for you at a club around the corner. It's nice for a change from the basic sterile hotel environment.

The hotel doesn't look anything like you see in the picture. Not a clean hotel, No internet,No Towels in the room, and breakfast? They can eat that. As you can see i am not a complainer but I will pich a tent before I will ever stay here again

I almost feel bad writing the review because I think the staff was nice enough and it's clear that none of them have it in their means to correct the shortcomings. The service was fine, and in the right hands this quaint spot could really be cool. Unfortunately, as soon as you enter there's a musty smell that fills the...

The Washington Inn was clean and friendly and affordable. It was in the middle between Oakland city Center and delicious local restaurants. The rooms were updated but tight. Comfortable bed! Also, the hotel was in easy walking distance to the BART rail and to Oakland's Chinatown, and the main street, Broadway. WE had easy access to a pharmacy, grocery store,...

We recently stayed for 5 nights and whilst the hotel seems to live on delegates to the Conference Centre who cannot or do not wish to afford the Marriot's rates across the road it is a less than civilised place to stay. Raj and his staff need to awaken themselves to the needs of international guests. Key points to improve...

When I'm in the East Bay, I frequently find myself at the Washington Inn. It's very convenient to BART, convention center, bars and restaurants in downtown Oakland. The staff is very friendly and helpful, The hotel is clean, comfortable and you can't beat the price. I've stayed here several times and have always had a good experience. The staff will...

My family and I stayed at this hotel while we were in Oakland for a short weekend visit in June 2012. We needed something that was relatively close to the airport, but still within the city. We booked through Expedia and reserved a Deluxe room with two double beds. When we checked in, the front desk said the room we...

I chose to stay here and save money. My parents stayed at the Marriott which is right next door. No problems at all. Cozy and Friendly. People complaining about outside noise that can happen at any place. I was on the 2nd floor and had no problems. Actually haven't slept that well in awhile. The hotel can't control outside noise...

The staff at this quaint hotel, in downtown Oakland, were pleasant and helpful. The room was OK, and the breakfast was adequate. But I have to recommend against staying here because of its location right across from the convention center. The night we stayed there, we were awakened by what sounded like mob action out in the street in the...

The hotel is very affordable. I was surprised about how affordable it was. It's decent looking. It's not dirty. It's in a good location if you MUST be in downtown Oakland. It has some amenities that much pricier hotels do not offer-such as shower caps. But the night I stayed (which is the same night the last two reviewers stayed)...
