Other than its setting & gardens which were quite nice and security, this property was entirely disappointing and grossly overpriced. It was located just off a main highway and quite noisy outside. More of an issue though was the one & a half hours drive into Yosemite valley- a 3h daily round trip, so not ideal as a base to...

We stayed here in May 2007 and was on our wish list to go back this year. Everything about the hotel was perfect. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Elderberry room, which we stayed in before and was on the 1st floor. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable....

Yes, Yosemite is nearby but the Chateau itself is a superb destination. We found everything matched or exceeded our best experiences at European Relais & Chateaux properties. The food, the service, the decor, all triggered fond memories of our past travels. We plan to come back many more times. Perhaps we'll even make it into the park next time. Erna...

We had a wedding attend in Fresno and decided to go to Yosemite from there. Everything in the Yosemite Valley was sold out (Memorial Day Weekend) so we found the Chateau online and it looked pleasant. We stayed for 2 nights and it totally surpassed our expectations on so many levels. We were truly blown away. We don't usually stay...

My husband brought me here for a birthday getaway and what a wonderful present it was! I can't say enough about the friendly staff - always ready to help with a smile. The chateau itself is like a little castle in a park. We stayed in the lavender room which is on the 2nd floor with views over the town...

My daughter and I were visiting the Yosemite Park and Chateau de Sureau was the perfect place to stay (located at 30 minutes drive from the south entrance of Yosemite). Chateau du Sureau IS the spirit of 'Relais et Chateaux'. This is more a private mansion than an hotel. Our rooms were 'like home', decent size and very nice bathrooms....

what a unique way to spend a special occasion here in California and not having to fly to Europe! the moment the iron gates were opened to let in our car and being greeted outside the entry door by a chambermaid and valet we knew we had made the right decision. our room had an antique king size bed from...

I've dined here twice, stayed over here one night, and once the service was great but the other times it was very slow and painful. The food was good. The management here seems a bit unfriendly. A bit snooty. Definitely try this place out as it is different. But don't be surprised if you have a great experience or a...

The Good: Extremely warm winter days. Décor was interesting, especially the canopy bed, reminded my wife of when she was a little girl... Classical music in the room, perfect selection. The garden view was nice but we had to keep the shutters down for privacy from other outside guests and the gardeners in the evening and morning. The breakfast (not...
