This place was very unique. We had just finished a morning/afternoon hike, and decided to stop in for food and a beer. There was a long line at the bar, but the food was delicious brought out surprisingly quick. We sat outside, on the lawn, and enjoyed our meal. P.S. The beer menu was great!

We have been fortunate enough to have lived in England for almost 6 years. A pub lunch here really took us back. Very authentic construction and decor. Huge inglenook fireplace in the dining room. Lots of folks "picnic-ing" outside as the inside pub area, has only limited seating. We were lucky to have been interested in lunch at 11:30, as...

If you like nature, comfort, history, eating, England or America you will enjoy the Pelican Inn. Perfect location on Muir Beach, not too far from the city but far enough that you are really out in the landscape. Like the redwoods nearby, the hotel feels old and storied but stands sturdy and welcoming. Modeled after a tradition British Inn in...

After a few hours hiking around Muir Woods, we planned to go to this pub after reading the reviews and we weren't disappointed! Being British, it's always a bit hit or miss when we find ourselves in a Pub in the US, but this lovely place transported us back to our village pub in England! The service was excellent, and...

I've always wanted to visit this inn, having passed it for years, so today we drove to Muir Beach and stopped for lunch. But first, I checked Tripadvisor and there really wasn't much good information about the restaurant. The Inn's website is not very imformative, either. So I'm writing a review to fill in the gaps. Lunch in the restaurant...

We've traveled around Scotland, England and Wales extensively and this inn does not measure up. I can only think of one inn that compares, one in Salibury that was built in 1600 and appeared to have it's latest refurb in 1800. If this were an $80 a night hotel, perhaps it is acceptable, but the rooms go for over $250....

My partner and I walked at Muir Woods and then went to Muir beach. My partner said she always wanted to go to the Pelican Inn so we went for lunch. The atmosphere was great. We sat outside in the enclosed area and had nice pub sandwiches on very delicious bread. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend...

This is a great place right near Muir Beach. It is romantic and such a different atmosphere than just a typical hotel or inn. The inn is just a two minute walk from the beach and 7 min walk to the zen garden. Over- all it was a great stay but in many places it looks like it could use...

Loved the range of food - salads, banger and mash, cheese plate....great wines...ones I haven't had and didn't know about...stop here...you will love it and it wasn't super crowded either. You can have a picnic on the grounds; just bring a blanket and you'll love being outside.

A quaint inn and pub fashioned after a historic English inn. The downside was that the door frames are low (watch your head!) the rooms a but musty and the atmosphere was dark. The upside were all of the historic decorating touches in all of the spaces. The location was perfect for our trek into Muir Woods the following day....
