We stayed here for 2 nights because we liked it so much. Mellenie is a great cook so the breakfasts were very tasty and huge too. Situated between Santa Cruz and Monterey is Moss Landing, beautiful place. Our room faced the water and the room was awesome, our bed was a boat. Very romantic.

My room was called the Sanctuary, and it lived up to its name. Named for the protected bird santuary outside the window. The room came with a book on local birds and binoculars. I woke to a white heron spreading its wide wings. Beside the views this place has many unique touches. Home baked snickerdoodle cookies by the bed. Double...

Hubby out did himself on this one!!! We drove to Moss Landing a cute little town between Santa Cruz and Monterey; to a bed and breakfast there called the Captains Inn...It was soooo beautiful, peaceful and quiet...the Room (Sail Away) had views that were out of this world. You can see Harbor seals sun bathing on the muddy banks across...

We made The Captain's Inn our week's headquarters for exploring the Monterey Bay area. Most coastal attractions are within a half hour drive and Moss Landing itself has great restaurants, shops, and a convenient harbor from which Elkhorn Slough nature excursions and whale watching boats debark. You can also ride horses on the beach or rent a kayak. Nature photographers...

My fiancee and I stayed in one of the Boat House rooms overlooking the slough. The views were fantastic. We used the binnoculars provided numerous times. The room is really beautiful and having the oversized tub right by the window was fun. I had not taken a bath in 20 years and it was really great. The food was amazing....

We had a great night here this week. Our room was in the Boat House and we had a great view of the salt marshes right out our window. The room decor was great, and we loved the oversized tub. Breakfast was delicious and the perfect way to start the day. Melanie (the inn keeper) was wonderful and very knowledgeable...

I was captivated by the wetland views that this place has to offer. The room we stayed in was clean and cozy with a nice fireplace. It also has a good size bathtub. Melanie was very informative and we enjoyed the stories she shared with us during breakfast. The food was exceptional. In fact, my fiance is still talking about...

We spent 2 nights in the Boathouse on the first floor with view of the dunes and river. Our room had a shower, gas fire place and a bed on top of a row boat. The bed was cute but you had to use step to get in and out of it. The breakfast was very good and so were...

As the third respite in a four day walking hike, we have to say that Captain's Inn was the highlight of our inn experiences. Melanie was welcoming, informative, and exceptional in her experience as a native to Moss Landing. We were warmly greeted and given 'the run of the place', as you would expect, but our room overlooking the slough...
