I decided to take a drive south on Highway 1 and stopped at Morro Bay for the first night. My first visit to Morro Bay and since it would be a one night stay, I went for the Sundowner. It is well located on Main Street. A small, one story classic motel with the parking located right in front of...

Nice change from corporate hotels. The current couple has owned it for about 25 years. They are very helpful. The room had a queen and a single, which was unusual but perfect for us. It was very clean, and had nice pots of flowers all around.

The Sundown Motel was a nice find in Morro Bay. It is a small one story motel of about 20 units. It was very clean and the rooms were nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in each room. The motel is family owned and the hosts were friendly and helpful. It...

We booked this hotel for one night based on TA reviews and we were not disappointed. I wish we could have stayed another night as the town of Morro Bay was very nice. After driving 6 hours it was really nice to have a clean comfortable room to relax in. There are only about 8 rooms at this hotel so...

Sundown Inn is a wonderful choice to stay in Morro Bay. We were on a road trip down California from SF to LA and needed a place to stay overnight. We didn't realize how beautiful of a town Morro Bay was and wish that we stayed longer than just overnight. The Sundown Inn, like the majority of other accommodations in...

We went to the coast to celebrate my husbands birthday. We stayed one night at the Sundown Inn. This a nice little motel. The rooms are on the small size but they are very clean and have all the necessities (coffee maker, fridge, microwave, small flat screen TV and air conditioning). The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not....

For some, staying in Morro Bay can lead to sticker shock. Our stay here was $200. This place from outwards appearance is a basic no frills motel. It is small and simple. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. Beds are comfortable. The staff was very friendly. So, short of paying even double this to stay at a resort,...

We spent one night here on our travels along the California coast. The Sundown Inn was the perfect place to spend the night. Small, simple, cozy, very clean and affordable. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in maintaining a quality motel in Morro Bay.

Wonderful room, great location, sweet people! Right on Main Street, with wonderful curb appeal. The place was very attractive and super clean, with a quaint feel. I think only 20 rooms, which was part of the charm. Will for sure stay again!

Stayed at this motel for one night on our California road trip. A sweet little motel with clean rooms, comfy beds and it was quiet. The manic fingers bed was entertaining! Within walking distance to the restaurants at Morro Bay. Thoroughly recommend.
