I just attended a weekend work trip to Monterey, and 16 of us stayed at this Marriott for 2 nights. The location is good, with shops, restaurants, and the marina close-by. The hotel staff was very friendly, and the breakfast buffet was tasty and had plenty of choices. The room itself was fairly large, but slightly dated. It was very...

Stayed in this hotel during the Thanksgiving weekend while visiting friends in nearby Carmel and Marina. Walking distance to the Fisherman's Wharf, Greyhound bus station, and lots of restaurants nearby. And if you are up to it, can even walk all the way to Cannery Row. Requested for a room on the top floor and was given a room with...

Lots of potential in a great location, but the hotel is dirty and does not offer the full amenities that you would expect at a Marriott. The rooms were a good size, and clean, but the hallways were dingy, and the window sill in the elevator lobby on our floor needed to be caulked and painted. On top of that...

We used Marriott points to stay here while visiting our daughter in Pacific Grove. The room was large and clean, and we had a partial view of the bay from a mini balcony. It is close to downtown amenities and has numerous restaurants and shops to walk to. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bed linens seemed as if...

My wife and I just spent 2 nights in Monterey and stayed at the Marriott Monterey on Calle Principal, right near Fisherman's wharf. The entire staff was excellent from the bellman to the front desk to the restaurant. Gillian at the front desk was amazing. She gave us a great room and provided excellent recommendations for dinner both nights (Dominico's...

We were in town for the Big Sur Half Marathon and it was a perfect location - the expo is across the street and the start and finish are short walks. We walked to Cannery Row and Fisherman's Warf - reasonable distances. Our room was comfortable and clean and associates were helpful and pleasant. Couple of downsides: no microwave and...

It was fine, it really was, but nothing special. Centrally located and helpful, friendly staff. Pretty expensive, but I guess that is to be expected. Room was clean and relatively quiet even just above the pool.

A bit pricey for the hotel - it is a little dated, however the location was close to the wharf and downtown. The layout of the hotel is quite funky - ask for a room by the elevator since otherwise you may be walking down a multitude of hallways. Parking is not included with the stay and you will have...

stayed here for two nights, was upgraded to a room on the 7th floor with a balcony. The double beds were really two twin beds and although comfortable they were a little small. The bathroom had a pocket door which I found to be a little strange for this category of hotel. Was given complementary wifi however it was useless...

Great location, convenient to downtown, fisherman's wharf and not to far from cannery row. Rooms are a little small. They charge extra for everything, including WiFi. It was ok but not a favorite hotel in Monterey.
