A very warm welcome when we checked in and plenty of advice & tips given to us as 1st time visitors to Monterey. A lovely room on the 1st floor with oodles of space and a nice big, comfortable bed. Small but "efficient" breakfast and a quick and efficient check out. We have no problem in recommending the Colton Inn.

This is our second stay at the Colton inn. Our first was a year ago and we stayed in a fairly nice balcony room with a fireplace. This year we decided to return and booked the family suite (three queen beds in a room) as our kids are getting older and have most definitely outgrown all sleeping in a double...

We stay at only expensive hotels but because we were paying for another couple we decided to stay at a "cheaper" hotel. This "cheaper" hotel was a surprise for us. This is our go to every time in Monterey from now on. SUPER nice staff, great breakfast, super comfy beds, great amenities and they even have a shower cap. Uber...

Hi Annie, I'm happy to hear that we made a great first impression on you. Our hotel is a bit of a hidden gem while conveniently located downtown Monterey with great rates and a solid base of regular guests that stay when visiting this area. We look forward to host you again on your next trip. Thank you for your...

So happy that Ellen is the Manager! It's easy to see how much she cares about the Colton Inn and customer service. All the staff are very nice. Enjoyed our 2 night stay during the Half Marathon in November. We combined watching our daughter run the Half with a visit to Monterey. We had stayed at Colton's many times in...

Hi Jeanette, I'm glad you found your way back to us, thank you for your recommendation. It was so much fun for us to host "breakfast in the evening" for the runners. Everybody loved it so we're going to do it again next year. We will also do the same for the full marathon that is held annually in April....

Stayed a total of 3 nights with a large family group - with various family units coming and going at different times. The reservations were very tricky but Ellen figured everything out for us and our stay was amazing! The Inn was clean and very comfortable! I would highly recommend The Colton Inn!

The Colton Inn is a very good place to stay in Monterey. Location is good (walking distance to sea, harbour, pier and aquarium) and the price is quite good given that it is in California. The rooms are very nice and well equipped with fridge, coffee maker etc. The outside area (stairs, corridors) are a bit bleak and soulless. They...

This was our first time staying here and we weren't disappointed at all. Great location, very easy to get to/from, staff was absolutely wonderful, and the continental breakfast has very good selections which helps get the day off right. Our room was spacious (214) which is facing street side; a little noisy if you don't mind road traffic which we...

Hi Marvin, thank you for your great review. I'm so glad you had a good first experience and we are looking forward to see you again on your next trip. Although the room you stayed in is pretty popular with regular visitors, you can always call/email me to see about getting you a room towards the back of the building,...

We chose this hotel for our three night stay in Monterey during our trip around California as we were looking for something more reasonable after paying high prices in San Francisco and Yosemite. However we were impressed by both the quality of the hotel and its location, just a short walk to the main shopping street with a good number...

The hotel was conveniently located. The staff was courteous and the rooms, although not "delux" were comfortable and clean. The breakfast of yogurt, pastries, fruit, cereals and beverages was more than adequate. Ask for the 2nd or 3rd floor away from the the parking lot. We actually were able to see little raccoons in the trees near our balcony. Cute....
