Nice clean hotel with charm. Staff is friendly and helpful. Close to wharfs walking distance, and all pub grills. Breakfast can be a little better other than fruit and bagels. Parking garage is over one block. Highly recommend you park car there. Enjoy your stay.

Every time I travel, I tell myself that maybe this time I will enjoy the inconveniences and 'charm' of a historic hotel or inn... and every time (almost!), I am confirmed in my commitment to frequent large hotel chains where everything is standard and I know what to expect. Perhaps this hotel was modern and charming when it was originally...

Worst hotel ever stayed. 1. Hard to find rooms. The hotel is actually two parts, historic rooms and relatively modern ones. However the elevator just took you to modern rooms, and you have to carry ur luggage through a not-easy-to-find door to reach ur room. 2. Small room with outdated furniture. Built in 1904 or so, the room is really...

I was disappointed with the hotel. When we checked in the person at the front desk was lacking in friendliness. But maybe she was just having a bad day or not feeling well so not a big deal, the rest of the staff was pleasant. There was no offer of assistance with bags and the bellman incorrectly directed my husband...

We booked this hotel online for the day after Thanksgiving. We were able to get one of the rooms in the older part of the building , and breakfast was included in our rate. The location of this hotel is terrific. It is just across the street from Old Fisherman's Wharf, a pretty easy walk, but it is close to...

The staff were amazingly friendly from when we turned up, full of useless tips of where to go and nice places to eat. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade and I have to say it was incredible. The bed was the biggest I have ever seen and we loved it! Best thing about the room. The breakfast...

We just got back from two nights last week at The Monterey Hotel --an historic hotel in the heart of downtown Monterey. It was charming, staff was pleasant and accommodating, location is great -- walkable to Aquarium and lots of nearby restaurants. Hotel also offers free continental breakfast. Our internet rate was $99 for a King room (Queen was $89),...

This great hotel is located in downtown Monterey and run by attentive staff. Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. While there is no on-site parking, there is enough street parking nearby as well as a parking garage less than a block away. The room was small, but nicely furnished.

This is a very sweet hotel on a main street in Monterey - just a short walk to the wharf and not too far to Cannery Row. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We booked a king standard room which was a good size and it had an electric fireplace which was lovely. Bed and pillows very comfortable....

For location, this place would be hard to beat; it's about 10 minutes from Fisherman's Wharf and the only "distraction" is the market at the other end of Alvarado Street, worth a visit in its own right. The building looks and feels as though it has been there long enough to know its business. My room had the old style...
