I didn't have high hopes for this hotel due to the location being almost literally the "middle of nowhere," but I was impressed by every aspect of my stay. The decor in the rooms and around the rest of the hotel was chosen well, and the furniture fits while being utilitarian. The coffee and tea provided in the room was amazing, and I'm glad I tried it. I didn't try their restaurants due to time constraints, but I definitely will next time.
The hotel provides a fun and hipster experience. Room and bathroom was very clean and bed sheets are so comfortable. Upon arrival, Christel at the front desk met and greeted us with enthusiasm. She also personally walked us to an alternative room setup as we noticed there were daytime sounds from the courtyard and we were concerned it would continue into our sleeping time in the later evening. We ultimately chose the room we were originally assigned as we were told sounds end at 9 pm which was perfect given that we would spend our days in Yosemite. Adrianna, Christel’s front desk partner, was professional and cheerful to us during our two night stay answering all my questions in person and on the phone. She was such a life saver given that after I checked out and drove away, I realized 15 min later that I left two of my pricey Yeti thermos in the mini fridge. She rescued them and waited in the heat of Merced for us to return to personally make sure we picked them up and not some strangers. The valet / gentlemen were always friendly as kind enough to open the front doors no matter the hour. Truly a great experience. …
I've stayed a few times at this hotel and it has always been a pleasurable experience. Each stay, the staff has made it a point to connect with me on more than just a "hotel guest" level. Whenever I'm in town, I will not stay anywhere else. Clean rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff. Not much more to say!
Looked forward to staying at a nice Hotel in my hometown. Downtown, was better, there were homeless and disoriented individuals within proximity of Hotel. Overall it was a nice stay. The bar/coffee establishment was “spot on” loved it. Great food, coffee and adult beverages.
I live in Merced, but I wanted to get a room for the night because my house was in an evacuation zone due to the heavy rains and flood warnings. I brought my Labrador Retriever with me, which is one reason I chose the hotel since it is "pet friendly". Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful to me and very understanding of my dog who was anxious due to the storm and going to stay in a strange place for the night. Excellent guest room, excellent food and excellent service.
I booked this hotel as a 7 year anniversary gift. While we were there the valet started by yelling at us that we couldn't park in the valet area. I then let him know that we had valet included in our stay. He had an attitude. We checked in and the girl that helped us was not friendly or welcoming. We then gave the valet the keys to one of the guys and they just looked at each other like they didn't want to take the key. We went upstairs to our room and began to try to relax. We got hungry and decided to go to dinner somewhere close by. We came back and dropped off the car once again and that was another unpleasant experience. We woke up and got ready to check out. The valet went to get our car from the structure in the back. When the car came around the corner I noticed that the hood of the car was opened.. Then we opened the doors and that's when we saw that our car was completely trashed and that someone had broken into our car. They took nice work jackets, work boots, our power banks, chargers, umbrellas, cash, our coins, sun visors, and some tools. Everyday I go look for something and it is gone. When we told the valet that our car had been broken into he said, " I thought that's how I thought you lived and left the car. It was VERY apparent that the car had been broken into at that point and he dismissed ALLLL of the signs. I spoke with the Supervisor and she did not know if the hotel was responsible for what had happened. I found that very odd that as a "supervisor" she was not knowledgable of a situation like that. All of this could have been avoided if the valet would have taken his time to check that the vehicle was locked as they did not break any windows. Very unprofessional staff. The valets did not match the aesthetic of the hotel. Had this not happened I would have considered returning to the hotel. …
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Staff are always helpful. I enjoy the effort to reduce the use of plastic on bathroom products without compromising quality. Their pour over coffee was a nice touch to my morning. I hope they keep a high standard for this hotel.
We were very pleased with our stay, they did a wonderful job renovating the hotel and it’s great to see improvements for Merced. It was also a plus that they allowed pets. The rooms are beautiful. Would definitely recommend!
I've been travelling here for business for the last couple months, and once I found this hotel, it's the only place I want to stay! I feel so comfortable here, the hotel and dining options are beautiful. I also like that they offer Chromecast on the TV in the room so that I can watch my own shows on the big screen! Love it here!
The Hotel is nice, the room decor is interesting along with a working turntable and records. The shower was a poor design, no door or shower curtain to stop from getting the floor all wet and you will need to call down to the front desk for an iron and ironing board since the rooms only have steamers.
