My husband and I stayed at the Hill House Inn for 2 days. Our room had a balcony with a view of the ocean. It was very pleasant and peaceful. The room was spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed the "retro" feel of the place. The breakfast was basic, but good enough to get you going. The breakfast room had a...

We made an impromptu visit to Mendocino midweek and got a good rate at the Hill Haven Inn. The decor was okay, a little worn, but clean. There was a coffee maker, but no other amenities. If you wanted a refrigerator they wanted to charge you another $20. If you lost your key it was another $50. Staff was nice,...

Decided to take Travelzoo up on a two-for-one weekday offer. The room was quaint and a visual experience. The carpet, wallpaper, couch, chairs and bedspread were all different patterns. The room was clean and quiet with a large porch facing the Pacific to the north. The commode was an experience. It was a pneumatic type in which the bowl water...

First, a couple caveats: 1. We traveled to Mendocino last week and stayed at the Inn on a Wednesday and Thursday evening and before any holiday traffic, and 2. We stayed at Hill House Inn with a Living Social voucher that reduced the cost of the stay considerably. Both my husband and I normally have difficulty sleeping the first night...

we decided to enjoy the beautiful labor day weekend by a last minute drive up the coast to mendocino. absolutely gorgeous scenery and could not have asked for better weather. as late arrivals we were happy to see a vacancy at the Hill House just on the outskirts of town. from the outside it seemed like a quaint Victorian style...

My husband and I were extended an invitation to accompany his brother and wife to stay 2 nights at this wonderful Inn. What makes it special? The staff are incredibly nice and helpful The rooms facing the ocean are very large with many of them having small decks to enjoy the amazing sunsets. The restaurant at this Inn is not...

Stayed here for one night on a long road trip with our 3 children. On arrival I was greeted by 3 ladies at reception who reacted to me as if I was disturbing them and were not welcoming at all. Our keys didn´t work as they had muddled them up and given us the wrong ones. The rooms were fine...

My sister and I went to Mendocino for the weekend to celebrate our birthdays. We paid for a room with a view of the ocean, only to arrive and find the windows so filthy that you couldn't see much of the ocean at all. Our room was next to the stairway, so you could hear people walking up and down...

The staff at the Hill House is concerned when our guests are not happy with their stay. This summer we have experienced a lot of fog and drizzle and window maintenance has been increased to a higher level with new longer handled window washing tools. We hope that this guest will revisit us in the future and enjoy our hospitality...

Our recent stay at the Hill House was fairly good with a few exceptions. The bed and pillows in our room were very uncomfortable and gave me a neck ache. The building could use some much needed maintenance as the salt air and wear and tear are apparently taking their toll. We had an ocean view room with balcony and...

Grounds and location are nice but the Inn needs some T.L.C. because of the location and area it's not going to happen because they can get top dollar without any improvements. The breakfast was good ,nice comfy dining room cozy fireplace. Rooms could use new beds ,mattresses ,linen ,and Bedspreads.
