Traveling to Mendocino with family of 5 including grandma and two children and most places were geared towards the "king bed, fireplace and jacuzzi set" so getting us al together at a reasonable rate was challenging. We got the suite at the Nicholson House and it was the perfect answer for us. Two rooms and a huge porch with a...

The Nicholson House Inn is a charming, reasonably priced B&B located just two blocks from the Mendecino main street. The owner is friendly, justifiably proud of the inn's history, and knowledgeable about the area.He also makes terrific scones for breakfast (which otherwise consists of juices, yogurt, fresh fruits, bagels/toast, and deli meats). The inn is comfortable--nothing fancy, but clean, well...

Nicholson House Inn is a historic location, please read up before you show up. Please note that the Inn has its own booking as well as listing on Hotel.com. We booked on Hotel.com, got a confirmation from the website, only to find out from the Inn keeper the next morning that the room was rented out to someone else the...

We had a great stay! The house was very nice. We loved our room and the host, Brent, was very helpful. He even offered me ginger candy because I arrived a little car sick. We had a great breakfast and again, Brent was very attentive not just to the food and beverages but to try to chat to each guest....

This is not a hotel, and is a bit different for a B&B, but the rooms are nice and idiosyncratic. The room has no TV, and plugs took a little searching, but there is a common room on the first floor. If it was a full night then a second floor room might be good. Breakfast was very nice, although...

I strongly advise you to walk away. I am not usually that worked up but this experience was really really bad so I thought I should say someting. First off, we arrived at night to what appeared to be a closed property: there was no light whatsoever, which made it really difficult for us to find the house. It also...

Booked at short notice and not our first choice. Cute building but very dated. Decor and furnishings are 'traditional' but tired. We did not like the black sheets and heavy decor but that is personal taste. Superficially clean but dusty and sticky above eye level. Communal lounge and kitchen are OK. Kitchen well equipped with electric hob but no electric...

What a disappointment! Check-in with the proprietor was brusque at best. That attitude prevailed. Breakfasts are better at Motel 6. Bed sagged horribly. Premises not at all clean - obviously managed by a man, as a woman would have both noticed and done the required cleaning. Stay somewhere else!

Great stay one night. Peaceful and clean. Host Brent was very friendly and helpful. We were headed to Ave of The Giants to see the Redwoods. LOVE this whole town. Someone at Dick's bar told us where to go to see the big trees. They were spot on in their advice. Brent makes a great breakfast for travelers on the...
