The hotel was old but not charming. It was musty smelling and the staff was not helpful at all. The an at the desk acted as if he did not want to be bothered to answer questions. The bed was very uncomfortable. We stayed in 6 different places on this trip and this was the only unpleasant one.

It is unfortunate that this guest did not appreciate the charm of our property. The antiques and furnishings were carefully chosen to reflect a bygone era and the responsibility is ours to ensure that all of our guests can enjoy this ambiance as it was meant to be experienced. Whenever a guest is unhappy with a room type or bed...

A return stay to the historic, Victorian-era Mendocino Hotel, located right across the street from the bluffs overlooking the Pacific. Great views from the lobby area, furnished with antiques and all the ambiance of the hotel's historic character. Upstairs rooms in the old hotel are cozy and also decorated to reflect the era. Charming but in need of refurbishing. Quiet,...

I spent the weekend at the Mendocino Hotel recently, and enjoyed my stay very much. I was taking classes at the Mendocino Art Center and was given a wonderful discount by the hotel. The room was quiet and comfortable. I did not mind hanging out at the bar in the evening to use the Wi Fy . Staff was very...

This is a quaint little fun town & the hotel fits perfectly in the midst of everything. Our room was a Victorian with a private bath. Rooms like this are very small but clean & bath was a decent size. Think the price is way too much but guess there aren't many of us who think so because the place...

My wife and I have had many enjoyable stays at the Mendocino Hotel and Garden Suites. We always stay in one of the handicap accessible Garden Suites and every time has been a pleasure. We have never had any problems with accessibility in the rooms or throughout the hotel. They have a great bar and café/restaurant where you can have...

Hi, I would highly recommend this place to come in for a cocktail or drink due to the ambiance. It has that old timey feel. However at about $330/night (we got a $100 discount on check in) the room wasn't worth it. I can't believe the actual rate would be over $400 for that room!! The manager was nice to...

. . . after I booked this I had a health issue several months later, the time frame had expired when I called the manager she said 'don't worry about it', 'get better and come visit us'. Wow, that's what we did and had a great experience and great meals. Molly, are little Havanese mix rescue dog barked that she...

We didn't make reservations until the night before for any of the hotels where we stayed. Our first stop was in Brookings Or then we drove south into the Redwood forest area of northern CA. My husband booked the reservation the evening before , We only booked it because it was moderately priced and they had vacancies. We didn't arrive...

Great hotel that makes you feel like your back in time. We had a one bedroom and shared a bath. We never experienced a problem using the bathroom. The room was nicely done. The clerk at check in even sounded as if you were back in the day. if you want all the bells and whistles go to a chain...

We love this town and reall like the Garden Suites in back. We have stayed there some 5-6 times over the last 20 years. But, since the advent of WiFi, it's high time the owner of the hotel gets modern. There is WiFi in the lobby, but not in the Garden Suite area unless you hang out the window. The...
